Default How do I change splash screen?

I'm Trying to figure out how to change the splash screen. Any info on this? When I un-tick the show splash screen on start up, it is still showing it? does it have to be regestered to be able to do this?

Can someone explain how to change the splash screen with a custom one? I've read it is something in the ini file. but I can not get it to work with a bmp, or png.

any help would be great.

hiya. Here's how...

With REAPER closed...

Either Start>Run or open Windows Explorer with the Address Bar visible and then type...

%APPDATA%\REAPER\REAPER.INI

This will open your INI file where you can then insert a new line directly under the [REAPER] first line and give the location of your chosen splash image in this format:

splashimage=c:\locationofimage.bmp

You'll probably find it makes sense to put a dark stripe along the bottom where the status text will appear in white as REAPER and your projects load up.

Personally I think it's only fair to put the Cockos logo and the word REAPER in the design somewhere out of respect for Cockos letting us personalise in this way but hey that's just my view!

Hope that helps

Cat,
How are you typing the splashimage line? I hope you realize that you need to replace 'locationofimage' with the path and filename.

like this...

splashimage="c:\documents and settings\teej813\my pictures\reapersplash.bmp"

Be sure to use quotes.
