Wondering the same - it's still not clear to me if any REAPER user has a Control24 working as a control surface with proper 2 way comms, but I'd love to know!
Cheers,
Drew

It's crazy that this hasn't got more attention. It's big news in this topic.

Well some development costs need to be recovered if its to be released in public as I owe my project partner thousands of hours of work, so some careful considerations need to be made as what to do and how to go about it.

Maybe nobody believes its true, maybe everyone has given up caring, i don't know.
What we have is a piece of software that runs in the background and works as a bridge between the DAW and the control surface the version demonstrated in this video uses OSC directly with Reaper, We also have a version that uses HUI which works with Pro Tools (11&12) and also both OSC and HUI versions for the Pro Control and Fader packs.
The software is not 100% perfect but its very usable.
Currently some shortfalls are:
Right now its Windows 64 bit only but if the interest can generate enough funding it could be made available for MacOS.
Meters are not accurate/fast so can only really be used as an approximation of signal.
Sometimes the counter stops working and can only be reinstated by closing and re-opening the app this can be seen in the video.
When you group multiple faders at once, the more faders grouped the more fader latency is induced which can be seen in the video. Grouping just a few faders is fine grouping 24 faders has a significant amount of lag.
The control surfaces using OSC do not behave exactly as they do within pro tools because some functions are different or do not exist so we have made what we believe to be the best use of the available functions with the buttons on the unit.
Within Pro Tools not every function is the same either because we are now using HUI which does not offer all the same functions as the original Digidesign implementation but most things work.
Most importantly faders, pans, mutes, solos, transport, automation, and most buttons all work as expected so its a very usable alternative to the current offerings ......i.e Nothing
More demo videos will be posted up just as soon as we can make them, watch this space.

People will be ready to pay.. right now.. for the project as it stands. I am sure of that. Then at least you can recoup costs and have an incentive and confidence in continuing.
It may be wise to make the "supplied 'as-is'" note very clear, however.
There's a difference between constructive feedback on what is/isn't working and people moaning about it not being perfect just because they have paid money. It's clearly ongoing research & development but that should be supported!
Huge respect for your efforts!
Drew

The documentation to go with the app is detailed in explaining what to exptect and why but its always a challenge to get people to read documentation so will probably have to create some kind of "you must read this and agree to the terms before buying" gateway or something.
Anyway we'll work something out and people will quite literally have to take it as it comes.

I've just read through all the updates on this thread and it is wonderful to see such results as you've all achieved. Great demo video AppMan.
My CM Labs MotorMate/MotorMix unit is still sitting unused gathering dust at the moment but I might finally be able to run it with REAPER.
My MotorMate has some faults at present that seem to be power supply related. I'm no longer in contact with Carl Malone (original developer at Mackie of the HUI and HUI protocol) though so I don't have access to the schematics. I am qualified in electronics though so I will have a go at fixing it if it will work with the current code you guys have created.

Our apps are only for the control 24 and Pro Control so wont work with the Motormix, we have no current plans to expand on that because we already have too much to think about. If what we have produced gains enough for us to reinvest in further development then maybe it can be expanded but right now we have too many costs to cover before thinking about anything else.

I have a studio with a Control 24 and Power mac computer. I will be watching this space. I may possibly be in a position to help fund a mac port for the app this year.

Amazing!!! Nice work on saving these wonderful control surfaces. I am a Pro Tools user Control 24 owner. I would definitely buy a mac version when it is ready.

ReaControl24 open sourced
Hi folks,
My attention was drawn to this thread by a friend who I'd spoken to in the past about using a Control24 with Reaper.
I have a couple of scripts that I use to run one of these desks against Reaper. It supports most of the basic functions, and I've been gradually expanding it to support modifiers, modes etc.
I've compiled them into a Github Repo for your enjoyment. They are also posted as a zip on Reaper stash
If there are any coders out there who'd be willing to contribute, please dip in!
