Toggle Track mute outside of window focus.

Scenario:
I'd like to toggle a voice effect in reaper at the press of a button. I can do it with keybindings when the Reaper window has focus but this is not the solution I need.

Setup:
* Reaper Pro w/ 2 Tracks; 1 is normal noise gate and filtering, 2 is the voice effect that needs to toggle.
* 2 Virtual Audio Cables I could put to use.


Here are ideas that I'm not sure are possible with Reaper but one of you fine people may be able to point me in the right direction?:

* Can I toggle things in Reaper through software so I don't have to buy a pedal or something for something so simplistic.

* Is it possible to toggle an Effect? If so, I could potentially have all the effects on one track and just toggle the voice effect.

* Can I assign each track to their own Virtual Audio Cable? If so, I can toggle the effect mute in OBS that would point to the Second Cable.

* Is there a far better solution to this issue that I'm not aware of?

Simplest solution would be best. I DL'd ASIO4ALL to get multiple output in Reaper but haven't figured out how/if I can assign a specific track to a specific output.

now you can toggle FX by track and slot number... very new via this script:

do you have reapack installed? if not you will need to do that...

then browse for lokasenna toggle and install that script...

then run it from the actions list and enter the track # and FX Slot # and then save as to a new action...

then you can give that action a key binding, which can be a midi key

keep in mind that you can make as many of those toggles as you like and can then combine them into your choice of custom actions and give those key bindings at will...

I'm not seeing a script at that url... I'll look at getting Reapack and stuff all set up when I get home though; thank you for the response!
