Channel mode for multichannels item

Hi,

I searched a bit and I don't think there's a way to control which channels are shown in an item (beyond the classic stereo/mono manipulation).

I know that it could be done with the channel mapper JSFX, but at the same time it's extremely useful to see the spectrum or waveform of each channel into the item. Do you know what I mean? Could be a feature?

e.g. in an octaphony an item that shows only three channels (1, 3, 4) and another with 2, 5, 6, 7, 8.
