Default Installing AU plugins on portable install

Is there a way to install an AU plugin (.component) on a *portable install* on OSX? I have no access to /user/library/audio/Plug-Ins/Components and just putting the .component files to "Plugins" or "UserPlugins" in the portable install path doesn't work.

(to be more precise: I don't WANT to put them to /library for several reasons).

No, au plugins can only be installed in the components folder, however a custom folder can be created for vst and vst3 plugin formats.

Hope this helps.
