Trouble while recording with inputFX
Did a search. Nothing.
Am I the only one having this issue? I can not even insert a simple ReaEQ to record audio because it does not record a thing, if using them as inputFX. Switching the FX off does not alleviate the issue. Deleting them completely from the chain, makes it possible to record, only after I hit the record again.
Any ideas? I hope it is just me doing dumb things here.
Thanks

I have yet to try this. But in just thinking about it, have you gone through the Kenny vids? I'm sure in one of them is the exact explanation. I'll give it a poke around tomorrow perhaps, not sayin I will find the solution, but hey, can't leave a brother hangin... dig?
Just a peek at The Manual, and section 3.26 on page 66 of the current version - entitled: Recording with input FX.
Seems like a topic you might enjoy? Dang now I'm gonna end up reading it too. Sleep is for the weak.

Thanks man. Found it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mSDZYGq3u8
Found the issue.
My tracks are preset to record MIDI overdub. Now the weird thing is that, if I do not add any input FX, and I select any audio input, records audio normally. As soon as I add the FX, I have to tell the track I want to record audio. Weird. AF.
Am I seeing strange bugs or is it a feature that a night sleep would help me out see?

Not 100% sure i follow, but you've set the track to record MIDI and you wonder if it's a bug when you can't record audio? I think some sleep might help

My (barely Rea-educated) guess would be that it has to do with routing of the input signal? If you know how it works both ways and are able to record with either circumstance I'd say you've won.
A bug would be if it sent the output to your neighbors television when you hit the transport control for play.
However, I have just finished another step in getting my recording rig set up also. Guitar/Bass-Amplitube Max(MacBook Pro) + iRig Stomp I/O to 2i2 into Reaper stereo track through SSL E Channel. Also running Addictive Drums as standalone with output to 18 tracks in Reaper - for play through and writing. No lag so far...
Of course next step is to get all this to record, so I may be back here having you explain it all to me, eh?

This is a feature -- if the track is set to MIDI overdub, and you have an input FX chain, it assumes that you want to use the MIDI output of the input FX for overdub recording (e.g. you could put ReaTune on there and have it do audio->MIDI conversion). If there is no input FX present, then REAPER (safely) assumes that you mean to record audio.

Well, put like that, def sounds like a nice feature. Needs it's own line in the manual for the win.
