Default What is the name of the small Vol knob line PNG (that rotates)?

Hi gang,

What is the name of the small Vol knob-line .png file (that rotates)?

It's the thin black line and I'm messing with making the knob look dark like the mute/solo (but round of course) and with light line value indicator. Maybe orange.

Anyway... does anyone know what png that is? My guess is it's not a sprite sheet and is simply gets rotated.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

Andrew K

There isn't one.

the size is controlled by the size set for the knob.
the color is controlled by the following line:
set mcp.volume.color

You can use a knob stack to have more custom look for the line.
those files would be:
mcp_vol_knob_stack (mixer panel)
tcp_vol_knob_stack (track panel)

Hey Lucas,

The line doesn't seem to be there on the MCP when in Narrow mode.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Andrew K

looks like you need to add the code for the color:
Code:
set mcp.volume.color [0 0 0]

Ok... last question for the day...

Is there a way to widen that line? It's so damn thin... it could be double width.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Andrew K

unfortunately, no.
at this point, you're better off making a knobstack or finding one that works.
If you do, you'll also need knbstacks for the Pan and Width.
They will use the Volume knobstack if one is not available for them.

Thanks Lucas.

I’ve made a bunch of sprite sheet knobs for Kontakt. But never Walter. I’ll read up on the specs. I’m sure there’s a place to put how many states there are or maybe just a divisor. I’ll see what I can dig up. You’ve been a ton of help. Thanks so much!

a lot people use Knobman:
https://www.g200kg.com/en/webknobman/

you can try searching the gallery for a suitable knob as an alternative.
https://www.g200kg.com/en/webknobman/gallery.php

I suggest you keep your current knob background and just make a knob stack of the pointer line.
It will be more efficient and help reduce the file size of the knob.
This way also allows you to easily redesign the knob background if desired.

Yeah.. I know (or knew) knob-man well. I'm on Mac... Will have to see what version I can use. I think there was a Java Script version... or I may have to fire up Parallels.
