Would like to convert some cwp projects to reaper, have any of you done this successfully? If so, what did you use to do it? Thanks!

It used to be a sticky at the top, but I guess it's not there anymore. I haven't seen the creator, Azslow, in a while, not sure if he's still active or what.

Was wondering that myself... used his converter for a lot of projects. Works well...

I've used it a lot. It's not a perfect 1 to 1 conversion since Cakewalk has the Pro Channel and Reaper doesn't. It will also spread your tracks out in a way that may seem counter intuitive from what you're used to, but be patient with it. Azlow has done all of us a great free service with us plug-in.

This is something I have wondered about.
Being able to open old Sonar projects right in Reaper and get most of it even more or less right would be amazing. Way better than having to go into Sonar and make stems and export midi, and trying to remember how the damn thing worked.
What a relief Reaper was.
Thanks for posting this. And thanks to Azlow for what looks like a really cool plugin.

Just want to confirm that Azlow's converter works very well. I had 25 years worth of Cakewalk/SONAR stuff, and it's come in very handy for me. You'll get some strange extra tracks, empty tracks, and duplicate tracks sometimes, but it's way easier than MIDI exports and stems from SONAR projects.

Wow!
Old CWP files just open right up in Reaper, in what amounts to recovery mode.
This is just fantastic!!

Giving this a bump. Ran across this post by accident and am happy to say so far conversions have been made without error.
Thanks for the efforts on this project

BTW I am ok and I am still around. I just have an activity which takes my whole free time, at least till November.
But in case someone spot and report real bug (better on my forum, simper to monitor for me), I will try to fix it.
