Default Glue-ing midi item creates extra bit...

I'm sure I'm using the program bass ackwards by doing this, but when I shorten the length of a midi item and then "glue selected items", it creates an extra new little midi item at the beginning of the next measure. The new item is about the size of a 64th note. I notice it happens after I slice a midi item out of a larger item, then glue it. I hope I explained this well enough. I can make an example file if necessary to make this more clear.

In Option-Preferences-Media: Tail lenght when using Apply FX to item: 0ms
It's sometimes handy to have handles when apply fx to items but not when you glue some midi items and you want to keep them on the grid.

Default Thanks, Bongo!

Ahhh, so it's not a bug at all! I will adjust the setting to 0 and Reap on!

(I prefer to File-->Render my efx to a new track, that's just my work flow.)

Thanks for the tip!

If at first you don't succeed, try Reaper! (and if that doesn't work, try the forum!)

well for midi-items a tail-setting >0 should be ignored. i would call it a bug then. at least there seems to be room for improvements

Default So true

I didn't realize that glue-ing items also applied efx to them. So I didn't even think that changing the efx tail setting would have any affect (no pun intended) on glue-ing midi items!

Maybe another check-box for "tails on midi items" would be appropriate. Or maybe just do away with tails on midi items all together, if this is not needed for midi efx to work properly...

Let's call it an undocumented half-bug, maybe??
