Default Cockos I love you!

This has nothing to do with this Pre but anyway I want to share.Don't know if anyone knows this but..... its freaking awesome!!!!I know there is a feature request by someone for this but it is here!
Blender like context menu

For example I did only with split actions : Split at edit/play cursor, Split at time selection,Split at zero crossing.

What the.... how did you do it?

EDIT: are the item edge refinements aimed to avoid the infamous 0.99 rounding problem? I'm no longer seeing it in pre6... or is it just murphy + placebo?

I've been doing that since the advent of toolbars .
Annoying detail: the darn pin on the toolbar is in the way and of no practical use for this application whatsoever. I want to get rid of that bugger, please.

I always thought that's the way everybody uses the floating toolbars anyway.

related extra request plug: please give us "close toolbar [n]" actions, so we can build toggles. Great to have on an extra mouse button right under the thumb.

You still have earned the honour to be the first to officially share and give it a real nice presentation . It's obviously new to many, so thanks for that.

'nuther shameless plug: I remember ED and me phantasizing on the possibility of context sensitivity with toolbars. So that the same key could open (and close, please) different toolbars depending on where the mouse hovers.

I had never though to put the "toggle" toolbar close in my ones, so cheers for that Sexan! It's a definite improvement

I only wish now that there would be some way of telling the "close toolbar" action at the end of the macro to not run if its button is armed ... that would be really great Not sure what would be a good way of going about that kind of feature though.

Since some time installing prereleases takes a long time with WIN7 64x.

When I doubleclick the installer it takes quite some time (minutes?)until the first dialog appears. Don't have this with other installers.

Hm...It's been there for quite some time. But it is super-fast if run as administrator.

Hi there,
What are the steps for creating that toolbar popup? Is it triggered by a mouse right click or a shortcut button? Thanks.

step 1. set shortcut for action : "Open toolbar x at mouse cursor"
step 2. within toolbar set : "Action you want" followed by "Open toolbar x"

The open toolbar action actually also closes the toolbar.

If you want to create a toolbar which closes when a button is pressed, you need to create custom actions for every button.

For example you'd create a custom action which includes "split at edit cursor" and "open toolbar x". Then just assign it to the toolbar button.

it's not doing this on my system. it opens the same toolbar in a second window.

perhaps this is a bug?

(edit: it works when the toolbar was opened with "open toolbar", but not when it was opened with "open toolbar at mouse cursor". osx 10.6.8)

The actions "Toolbar: open toolbar X" will open the toolbar if it is currently closed, or close the toolbar if it is currently open, no matter how it was opened. We will rename these actions to "Toolbar: open/close toolbar X" for clarity.

The actions "Toolbar: open toolbar X at mouse cursor" will open the toolbar if it is currently closed, or move the toolbar to the mouse cursor if it is currently open.

Don't know if this is a FR or polishing but I would like for Marquee tool to be more visual feedbackish so the boundaries of Marquee tool immediately select items.

And for Marquee Toggle selection to deselect items only if no new item are selected

I know there are 2 separate mouse modifiers for this but I think this is how marquee tool is supposed to work

I guess its a FR

This looks promising.
I tried very short items for making audio follow tempo-changes, but had to leave the idea, as there was artifacts. Hope this fixes things. Could be the foundation for native elastiq audio in Reaper
( Not tested v4.16pre6 )

this isn't happening. i've done a little testing and it looks like it works normally with toolbars 1-6 but does not work with 7 and 8. here's a screencap:

http://screencast.com/t/eVX45OxvjD

in fact it gets alot weirder, it's opening toolbars that it's not supposed to. you can see it's opening toolbar 6 instead of 7. and this is a fresh portable install of the latest pre, though it happens in older versions as well.

Regarding toolbars, can actions "open toolbar at mouse cursor" be toggle ?

And btw why is this happening?

While icon is Armed,it gets unarmed when clicking, sometimes after 2 clicks sometimes after 1 and sometimes after 10?

Thanks for pointing out the toolbars @ mouse cursor insight, Sexan. That'll be a useful addition to my workflow.

On OSX, is it possible to have the floating toolbar without the window handle/buttons, like in the gif above?

Have you tried to untick "Frameless floating toolbar windows" in Options/Preferences/Appearance?

Just in case you haven't tried it, what about mouse modifiers for doing this (using shift/alt/control for additional mouse options) plus the intelligent split that is an SWS action that splits depending on time selection being there or not.

I do love toolbars as buttons for activating certain things but find having all my editing abilities on my mouse buttons and modifier buttons is very fast

I agree with you regarding modifiers (that split this and that in my gif was only to show what I did, thats the first action that came to my mind, that was just an example) I am using lots of modifiers but this will help me with other commands that I use that are on lots of places and its easier to me to have one shortcut that will show similar actions rather to memorize 50 other shortcuts.

But this will be a great improvement for new guys,I showed Reaper to many people and they love it but they cant seem to work their way thru all the commands,so I think this will help them a lot.
