Default ASIO Questions

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Reaper and I'm using a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2
interface to "try" to record my guitar with.

In the Audio options under preferrences, I've tried using every listed audio driver
to get input and output into Reaper. I started with the ASIO driver which gave me input but no output to the main buss (1&2).

I then tried the WASPi driver (exclusive moded), and got no results at all.
I know better than to use the "direct out" or "wave out", but I tried them also
because I was trying to be thorough.

Here's my signal path:
Guitar>Focusrite interface(line USB)>laptop PC> Reaper.

I've searched and re-searched Win10 sound options, but it was useless.

My question:
Shouldn't ASiO driver work with both the Focusrite interface, Reaper and Win10?

I'm stumped...

My system is:

Lenovo Laptop x64>Intel i7 processor>8 gigs ram>1 TB SSD>Win10>Reaper 6.07 X64

If someone can give me a clue, that would be amazing!
Thanks

Yes Focusrite ASIO will work fine.

What does no output to master bus mean? That it's not possible to select any output or that you get no audio.

Screencap of your Reaper driver selection would help.

Hey Stella,

First, let me say thx for offering to help me out, you rok!

Next, I found my answer at the Focusrite.com/support section.
It turns out that there was 3 issues at play:

1> I needed to thoroughly tune Win10 sound protocols.
2> I had stupidly thought I needed to download an ASIO (downloaded ASIO4all)driver.
3> I had not understood, that since the Scarlett 2i2 interface was USB, that needed
to download their USB/driver software to translate between Reaper and Scarlett.
4> Finally, I needed to be ok with the Focusrite driver to playback any other audio
source, and I am.

Now, Reaper performs as I expect....awesome, and all my plugs/input and output work great too.

Again, thx for helping out and I hope that this solution may help anyone else with a similar issue.
