Default Blur moving object (url,password,face)

Hello,

I'm trying to find the best way to blur a specific zone/object in Reaper and follow this object while it's moving on the screen.

I've alreay set my workflow to fit Jon Tidey's tools (custom actions, possibility to directly move object on the screen, automations etc..)

But I can't find a really clean and easy way to get a blur folllowing object as it's actually proposed in specific movie softwares such as premiere pro for example as shown here :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAKATQKDZu0

So, I know Video editing is not the main purpose of reaper, but I just wonder if someone has already acheive such a thing

Probably not, as this is quite difficult to handle, at least the analysing-part.
Though I would love to see such things as well.

Maybe you can create one transparent object, apply bluriness, use one of the blend modes, and move THAT around?

Just an idea, I don't know how to do this either.

Check out this video on motion tracking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE8mGsBRJP4

@mespotine : ok, thanks for the reply, I feel a bit less alone

@pingosimon : Yep, I've already seen this video and followed the Jon's course on reaperblog.net (which is an incredible bundle of essential lessons to make videos on reaper !!).

I finaly find another way, kind of workaround. As my main goal was to mask an URL, I just pick the background color using pixie (http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.php) and then I use a rectangle with this background color to mask the url and easily track the movment on my screen. It works pretty well

Nice!

Blurring something out does look cooler than a solid rectangle, though. I think I'd try make a layer, and adding the gaussian blur, and some transparency.

Check this thread out, in case you don't have the transparency/blending tool yet
