Default Soundiron, Voices of Rapture, workflow

Hi!

Does any of you have tips for how to best use the sample library
Voices of Rapture, solo opera voices (Soundiron)
in Reaper?

The articulations comes in a mix of patches and choices within patches

Patches, typical: True legato, sustained, staccato
Then: Vowel, attack, swell (dynamics), offset, legato (on/off), vibrato in GUI

I was thinking using midi-channels for choosing patches,
then midi cc for the GUI stuff, maybe one track per patch.

Ideally, it should be easy to change parts/all of notes, when this is updated in Musescore. Musescore is source and score is main output.
DAW is just for showcasing and rehearsal

Any tips and recommendations?

Hi Geir,

I don't have Soundiron but I googled it and it appears what you call patches are the various articulations, is that right?

So you would load enough instances of the nki files for all the articulations with different midi channels, is that what you mean?

Do they have built in CCs for the various controls?

If your answer is yes, then yes, I think using midi channels for the various patches is a good idea, and I think I would also use
different tracks. However, there are a lot of things to consider so it would be up to you whether it would be advantageous or not.

As far as CCs go, they are usually the difference between good realism or not so good realism.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Musescore, so I can't comment about that.

Thanks Tod

Yes, for now I'll do it like this:

- #1 Soprano, vsti, 3 patches (articulations), set notes to wanted midi channel patch
-- #2 Patch 1, cc articulations
-- #3 Patch 2, cc articulations
-- #4 Patch 3, cc articulations

Yes, patches are articulations, yet there are articulation within patches as well

Hence the confusion
