Default What is currently the best Windows laptop available for studio recording

I am switching from the Dell XPS Desktop (i7, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HD) that I have used for recording previous albums to a laptop, as we need more portability. In your opinion, what is/are the best laptop(s) currently available that have:

-At least 16 GB RAM with expandability up to 32 GB;

- Intel i7 (or faster if available chip), faster series (I believe this is 7300 series but may be wrong here, and there may be faster chipsets now);

-at least 512 SSD for the OS and DAW, and at least 1 TB HD for the rest

-good battery life

-firewire and Thunderbolt

-Multiple USB 3.0 ports

-(wish list) backlighted keyboard -stays reasonably cool;

Welcome your recommendations. Affordability of course helps.

Many thanks for your suggestions in advance.

Default Best laptop

I would look into a MacBook Pro.

Default MacBook Pro

Thanks for your reply.

I understand that there are some who advocate for the Macbook Pro over a Windows laptop computer, and that they name advantages including stability, virus, drivers, among a host of these.

I understand this and have considered it.

However, having used Windows to create all of albums, and having amassed a large library of Windows based VSTis and other products, along with the familiarity of Windows, I'd like to stick with a Windows based machine at this time

I appreciate your response and your suggestion. Any thoughts on a Windows based laptop?

Well, I'm a bit late on the thread, but I switched back to windows based laptop a year and a half ago from a macbook pro.
Have you considered Schenker laptops. Very configurable, very good user support.
I'm very pleased with mine.
