Sweetwater Creation Station CS-250 (2011 version)
Sweetwater CS-250 (2011 version)
- Intel Core i5-2400 @ 3.1Ghz (4 cores)
- 16 Gig RAM
*(upgraded from 4gig OEM)
- 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium
- ASUS HD 5450 PCIe Silent GPU 1G(DDR)
*(added aftermarket - OEM is onboard 256M (which is currently
disabled))
- Dual video monitors - extended desktop mode
- HDD 1-C:/) Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 1TB (for OS, Programs, Sample
Libraries, IR's, etc)
- HDD 2-D:/) Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 4TB (for projects)
* Upgraded from 500G and 1T respectively - moved the 1T into the C:/ drive and replaced the 1T D:/ with 4T as the D:/ drive)
- Roland Octa-Capture USB audio interface
- UAD-2 Solo
* CS-250 is a slimline case, so can only fit a UAD Solo 1/2 height card)
Notes:
* UAD-2 card was installed in mid 2012 when only had 8gig RAM and still
using onboard GPU with dual monitors
* Buffer is usually 128 or 256, once in a while 64 if tracking with time critical live monitoring
* Usually track audio at 44.1k/24b and switch to 48k/24b if working on
video, rarely at 96k and never at 192k
* No overall issues with operation of UAD-2, either audibly or
visually(GUI), occasional hiccups here and there but nothing nasty or
repeatable
Just wish I'd bought the CS-450 instead, so I could install full height PCIe cards for more DSP (UAD Dual, Quad, Octo) and a more robust GPU for doing videos ... oh well ...
