Default Auto FadeOut and Jump to the next Marker ?

Hello the internet!

i'll use reaper to playback a Show.

I wish to be able to create an Action that allow me to fade out the sound track and jump to the next marker .

Do you know if it's possible?

Thank you.

you can do the fade out with a vol envelope

you can go to next marker with an action marker

A bit more details are needed to maybe come up with a solution. Since you for some reason cannot make the fades beforehands, we must assume that the fades would not always start at the same positions either?

Also, how will you define the fade (start/end/curve)? Would you e.g. draw a time selection, or just want it to start from the current cursor position. With latter option and having possibly a long fade tail, you cannot do a simultaneous quick jump to the next song (marker) without an abrupt cut. IOW, you must first start the fade and after the fade out is silent enough, do the jump.

Any reason the most obvious method won't work; do a manual fade out and then use the action to jump to the next marker?

There are these Actions (you need the SWS extensions)
1 - SWS: Nudge master output 1 volume -1db
2 - Action: Wait 0.5 seconds before next action (or 0.1)
3 - Markers: Go to next marker/project end
4 - Transport: Play/stop
5 - SWS: Set master output 1 volume to 0db

Put together as alternatining series of 1 and 2 til the volume is low enough (maybe you can use a cycle action here, above my actual brainstate), followed by 3 (jumps to next marker) and 4(Stops playing) and 5 (sets volume to 0dB) .. the starting the next run with space.
Run this custom action (i'd make a keyboardshortcut) early enough
before the next marker since the time volume decreases is fixed
or set the markers in an appropriate manner.

played arround with this idea and came quickly to 2 custim actions Shortcut j Fades and stops jumps to next marker , k plays and fade quickly in . those 2 alternately fades nicely arround markers. Be aware not to press k when the output is already open.
Save following as j&k.ReaperKeyMap and import it in REAPER.

You can apply item fades to video... Or to "fade" a video you might want to look at the video processor plugin. There's a preset for Track Opacity/zoom/pan. Opacity can be automated. If you want to do a similar thing to the OPs requirement, i.e. trigger a "fade" and then hop to the next marker, in a live setting, it's probably a job for a script.

I don't know how to 'get at' video processor preset parameters from a script, but I'm sure someone does.
