Default Similar to FL Studio's X-Y-Z Controller?

Hi,

Is there a native X-Y-Z controller in Reaper? If there is, whats the name?

No, there isn't a feature like that available in Reaper.

ey- well,i would not say native by default, but yes-you can make it yourself with param linking..
want to try this fxchain to see if the links are in tact?
what do you want to control? the universe,or....?

Hehe, I saw a video on YT on epic sounding music and he used this vst to make instruments come close or far away by dragging a little ball in that vst.
So was wondering if there is something similar VST around or built in Reaper.

Thanks, I shall try this out and come back with the result. Maybe its doable with several different reverb settings.

aye-no problemz-- thing is-param linking wont actually work the same as that specific il tool-because that 1 also allows for envelopes--different rates/speed of inductions!
it's not much different from using a joystick tbh..if some user has mapped the appropriate control functions-- reasurround has a z function..so learning your device cc should be no probz either--unless a fault comes into play.
also using a plugin like for this controlling-audio wet/dry or outputs may need to be disabled--as it's just for control purposes.
just try midi learn for anything you want to control eh..

cheerz.

I tried tour FXChain. Didnt hear any different. Loaded Reaverb and added a hall impulse small hall and one medium hall and played with wet and dry. I think I can get the sound I'm after. Maybe add some delay.

lol-the purpose of that fxchain was simply to highlight the use of parameter linking..the state variable filter just has the x/y co_ords in 1 mouse move..

i think by default them type of controllers are set to modwheel/pitch+zoom amounts..the x,y,z- it depends on what you wanted to control- as you have not responded to that question...?
what exactly are you trying to achieve anyway? a reverb effect with a midi or usb pot or fader?

I'm just trying to learn new things/techniques. Hope you don't mind
I followed this tutorial on YT, he uses FL Studio and X-Y-Z Controller. It's nothing more than that, I wanna learn, understand and maybe come up with my own workflow. I think I go with different reverb impulses and delay, and see what I can come up with.

heh-of course i don't mind-we are all here to learn+hopefully teach each other new tricks+techniques..teach me something please! =)
have a play around with reasurround--because that could do pretty much the same thing as that xyz controller (without the advanced mapping formulas or envelopes) by using links..
+ each speaker can even have it's own fx/reverb or w/e that way eh.
of course, any advanced mapping tool would not go amiss for reaper's native toolset.
question everything!

ey-ok..if your interested,try >this < track template <>?
basically: it's set for a mono track input: so,try insert audio onto track1-open up reasurround and check the controls..
by using a combination of diffusion+diffusion bias+diffusion level+rotations of these params..user can basically get the mapping formulas of the xy as well..
1 mono track is routed to 4 seperated stereo 1/2 fx... rotate the speaker cone to morph between each fx and diffusion level to mix the signals-- does it work ok?
for stereo input, user just needs to double up,and automate everything to what they like.
the channel fx morphing can be automated by using 2 param lfo's-offsetting 1 or the other's speed,to achieve the circular motions...different lfo timings, give different movement shapes.
glhf.

see the gif? >

swap out the fx for whatever 1 chooses-this simple way can be expanded to extra channels/fx and further routing possibles.
not forgetting each sphere has a field of influence (would be extra sweet with fade zones!) --and levels may need ajusting pre or post fader/plugin.
you now control the x,y+z.
easy as 123.

Thank you so much. I give it a try.

ReaPack/mpl_XYPad (background).lua
But it could be a JSFX doing same.
