Default Critical Linux bug: Dropdowns broken on Sway (Wayland)

Hello

Recently, something has broken dropdowns when running Reaper in Wayland (XWayland that is). Running version 6.29 now and testing on Sway 1.6.

The symptom is: When you click something that produces a dropdown, after scrolling past the first few items, the dropdown disappears, making it impossible to use them. This seems to affect all drop downs.

Thanks

Investigating this further: Downgrading to an older version of Reaper (tried both 6.01 and 6.09 (random older versions)) and the exhibit the same behaviour. Maybe wayland, sway or xwayland changed something recently that made Reaper incompatible????

Yes. I expect it to be a bug which was triggered after the latest version jump bump of wlroots to 0.13. Something is now incompatible with XWayland and the way Reaper does windows and gets mouse position?.
Im guessing its all related to some mouse hover issue. The symptom is also present (though not as obvious) when 2 or more floating windows are stacked. It seems that sometimes the mouse will do actions on a unfocused window if there is several floating windows stacked behind the focused one. This i experience on some vst's atleast.

Default Cause of bug possibly found

Okay here is a follow up:

The bug is caused by something that was introduced in Sway version 1.6 and the accompanying wlroots 0.13. Downgrading to Sway version 1.5 and wlroots 0.12 fixes (temoporarily that is) the problems with Reaper.

Yes this seems to be a purely `sway 1.6` issue.

There is now an open issue on this over on Sway's github:
