Default Looks amazing

Thanks mate
Order placed and paid for. I was a bit worried that there would be shipping from the US but postage was the same price as sending the book from you in Tassie to me in Melbourne! Too good.

Thanks!

A couple of people have now pointed out to me one or two (very minor) typos in the Preview PDF version. None of them affects the accuracy (or otherwise!) of the content or the clarity or meaning of the text, and I've fixed them for the hard copy edition.

I haven't yet got round to changing them in the demo preview file, though, 'cos it would take too long.

The User Guide is the same User Guide as is available on the Cockos Reaper d/l site.

The ReaMix book is the new Mixing Primer.

Mixing Promer?
Had to do that since I am ALL THUMBS. I've typed stuff in online ( Unreal series ) games that people just cant understand.

For those without the original Reaper manual I cant recommend it enough. Its well written! It's easier to grasp new concepts from a book than a Pdf.

I expect to order the Promer this week

Wow, I knew you were into your track channels Nicholas, but I had no idea to what extent...mad stuff here! Great tip about renaming fx as you go, I never thought of using it like that.

Hey what's the deal with Lulu if the book doesn't arrive? Is it just too bad and pay again?

I usually go express for O/S but it's nearly $70 USD extra in this case. You don't have an Oz outlet, do you?

Nicholas

I have done some authoring...I must say I really appreciate your relaxed style of writing...it is not at all dry, even though the content itself sometimes is.....

Ordered the book...I also do acoustic music, so am quite interesteed in your suggestions, insights, approach....

Gracias....

Hi Bevosss -

I have investigated the self-publishing possibilities in Oz, but would end up being 50% to 70% more expensive than LULU, even after allowing for postage.

Never known of any problems with LULU, but just in case ... keep a record of the Order Number when you order. If it doesn't arrive in (say) 3 weeks, log on to My Lulu and follow the link to Contact, then Report a problem with my order.

Cheers mate.

Can I suggest that to avoid unnecessary distress to family, friends, and other loved ones, you obtain and affix head bandages for when this lands on your doormat . . .

. . . because it's going to blow your mind (and your head and your brain)

I just ordered ReaMix *and* the Reaper manual.

I like being able to search through online documentation as a reference, but I found when I was learning SAW Pro so many years ago, having a printed manual that I could read front to back was such a great help.

Thanks for all the hard work!

I have the Owsinski book in my bag , but nonetheless just dropped the $25.00 at LuLus

I like the practical Reaper hands on perspective and unlike the Reaper manual its something that should not outdate itself too quickly.

Wait, it ships from within the US? I thought something on the Lulu page indicated it was coming from Orstraylya. Or is it just that you're from Orstraylya and they print and ship it in the States?

If so, I should get it even faster, I was expecting to have to wait for international shipping. Woohoo!

I'm not absolutely certain, but I think that all hardback books have to be printed in, and distributed from, the US, but paperbacks can be printed locally in areas where Lulu has what it calls 'printing partners'.

I do stand to be corrected though.

Well my copies ship from the USA so unless they've got a completely upside down business model and ship USA to Australia and Australia to USA then so should yours be!

I almost bought a copy. Then I got to the checkout page and found that their "shipping charge" was more than the cost of the book.

...reminds me why I've become a fan of buying things that I can get via electronic delivery right from the source.

... but only because the book is so very reasonably priced!

It's only $9.65 to Australia standard shipping, how can it cost more to Canada? I think you were looking at the Express cost...

I agree that it's reasonably priced before the extra charges, but I don't think that's the "only" reason for the shock at checkout. If you're receiving the entire sticker price, then I could justify paying double in order to finance their printing and administration costs, but I suspect that's not the way it is.

I am also missing the logic of why workbook format equates to no electronic delivery. If the buyer is willing to print it (or not) themselves, why not give that option?

Anyway, I don't mean to make a big deal of this. It just struck me as something in their "business model" that didn't sit right.

No, I'm putting a very small markup on this indeed, the minimum really that I can justify to myself as a very modest compensation for the very many hundreds of hours that have gone into its preparation.

But no big deal. At the end of the day, each individual must decide for themselves whether they think the total price is worth it. I'm sorry that you don't, but of course I equally respect your right to come to that conclusion and wish you well.

Nicholas, its quite obvious from both the manual and the new book that this is more a labour of love than for profit. If both were twice the price i am sure that sales would be the same.
The knowledge of any proffessional with the amount of experience such as yours (especially as well written and explained as your books) is priceless. Especially for us newbies.

Nicholas,

Why not offer a downloadable version (PDF)? I know it is easier for an e-book to be illegally "shared" but hard copy books get scanned and illegally shared too.

I wish I could just pay for it and get started on it instead of waiting for it to be shipped. E-books are so much more convenient/flexible. I hate dealing with hard copy books since I alway seem to damage them or mislay them.
