Perhaps the disappearing tooltip bug can be fixed before v5.62 is officially released? A tooltip that disappears as soon as the user pauses to check the info inside the tooltip, is not very useful. (BTW, the tooltip only disappears if the mouse cursor is in the Ruler area. If the cursor is in the Arrange area, the tooltip remains in place.)

Updating the builds with that fixed (and also another subtle addition which is omitted from the changelog, ha ha), thanks

Great update.
One wish, project selection window, is it possible to disable (by choice?) project location, i dont need to see the search way, just makes it cluttered.

You mean Project List? That's a SWS feature, so nothing Cockos has to do with.

At any rate, you can right-click the header to disable the Path column.

Idea/UX Fix - Single left click on a region could move the edit cursor to the beginning of that region, like it does with markers.

Currently, left click on a region does nothing.

It's the startup Prompt option

...except if you have two projects with the same name in different paths, I suppose?

Exactly!
It´s kind of weird, last active project doesn't have it, but the rest...

It's definitely not pretty but it seems on par with the rest of the REAPER GUI.

I would love to see a little search box on that window so it's easier to find slightly older sessions.

The text is so static that it's not easy to read all the project names well.

I also remember and issue when trying to expand the window horizontally to the right. Eventually the text just cuts off when you have especially long names/paths for projects.

Project selection window should have button to open project.

In my way of working recent project list is not helpful, because I move projects from folder to folder, and rename folders. So usually most recent projects on the list are pointing wrongly.

Every time I want to open project in renamed folder, first I have to pick new project to pass by project selection window. Then I can open project directly, but before that it asks me to discart or save the new empty project....

Now I disabled project selection window, so Reaper opens with new empty project. Still it asks me to save before opening the one I want....

I wish there was a OPEN button, which would open projects from disk directly, without needing to open new empty project first.

Do you have "Preferences->Project->[ ] Prompt to save on new project" enabled? Disable.

So, literally, no-one gives a crap that THIS is happening?

Are people aware of what is even happening in the gif? Look at the muted AIs, then look how they all become UNMUTED when the region is copied. That can't be right.

I've not seen this mentioned before and I don't see any fixes in the .65 pre-releases.

Yea, it is disabled here. If I enable it, I get full "Save" browser window. But if disabled, I get small popup window "Reaper Query: Save unsaved project before closing? Yes No Cancel".

So in any case I have to click a button to close new project before opening new one. Which is horrible.... Because it takes cca 0.1s ....

Anyhow, OPEN button would be really welcome.

It may be ugly but I never found all that stuff in the "Steinberg HUB" useful - and back then when I used Cubase you had no options to change the usefulness to the better. It showed the typical flaws of the problematic development style of that DAW.

Regarding the project selection window I would recommend to consolidate the folder info when you have opened several versions of a project in a row like this:

TophitMaster01.RPP D:\Songs\Tophit
TophitMix02.RPP
TophitMix01.RPP
TophitMix00.RPP

Instead of this duplicate info right now:

TophitMaster01.RPP D:\Songs\Tophit
TophitMix02.RPP D:\Songs\Tophit
TophitMix01.RPP D:\Songs\Tophit
TophitMix00.RPP D:\Songs\Tophit

Another good thing is alignment:

D:\Songs\Tophit
TophitMaster01.RPP
TophitMix02.RPP
TophitMix01.RPP
TophitMix00.RPP
D:\Songs\Topfflicker
Topfflicker01.RPP
Topfflicker00.RPP

Just some simple formatting would make this list way more readable.

Ps.: Maybe even an alternating list background (second line light grey).

An undocumented change in this update is the track quick add fx menu, and I'm finding it really annoying to be honest.

In this image I'm right-clicking the FX button on the track "Main" to access the video processor already on the track.
Instead of that plugin being just below the mouse cursor it is now 5 inches away at the bottom of the big list of fx folders.

If you go through with changing this menu, please keep an option for the simple 3-item list. add fx, add fx chain, inserted plugins.

Thanks!

In 5.65, the loaded plugins on the track will be on top rather than on bottom.
