Default Welcome to the Abattoir

I mastered and uploaded another old metal tune tonight. This was recorded in October of 1989 at Randy's Recording with Scarlet Winter, who I was gigging with at the time. RR was a 16-track studio and the song was recorded to one-inch Fostex tape. I can't fix the mix (and yes, there are things that bug the shit out of me about this recording, but it was done in one evening and isn't bad, all things considering). I wrote and produced the song.

Impressive, always liked a bit of prog now and then. Really good band, performance, arrangement, production, the works. Who did the mastering?

Nice. All kinds of influences there but still very original. Tight. I liked it.

By the way, I know Randy had to retire due to health problems --- is he still with us?

Haven't hear anything about him for years.

Jorgen, thanks, as always, for listening! I had a lot of fun playing with this band. Very much appreciate the good words.

I mastered it myself. I have three basic Reaper setups for mastering. This one uses dynamic EQ on the source track and parallel compression on a send.

Sambo Rouge, I don't know. Last time I spoke to him was somewhere around 2003 or 2004. Then he had a stroke or aneurysm or something, but I haven't heard anything. Last time I was in his studio was 1991. He was a good shit. Funny, really down to earth. And his rates were really cheap.
