Default Waves plugs crashing 5.4 - anyone else seeing this?

Loading IMPusher and Trueverb crashes Reaper 5.4 when loading them... anyone else having this problem?

Edit: CLA Guitars also... guess there is a problem. Now re-scanning VST's to see if this fixes it.

I just loaded a selection of Waves plugins in both vst2 64 bit and vst3 64 bit format with no problems.

Are these within projects that have other devs plugins or are you loading them in a blank project?

Cleared and re-scanned my vst's - no luck. I'm rolling back to 5.35.

To be fair, a rescan will have no impact on whether a plugin is crashing.

If you continue to have problems I would suggest a re install of the plugins - very simple via Waves central. Something may have gone awry in the installation.

My NX plugins worked again after a reinstall via Wavescentral.

So that's a chance.

Thanks Bladerunner, that worked (and 'only'took one hour).

But Airon appears to have had the same issue - so why is 5.4 screwing with Waves plugs??

I had the issue with Windows 10 Insider build 15058. 15063 fixed it for me. It seemed to be any plug with certain authentication schemes...

I should add the crash happened in other software as well. Cantabile for one. So it may be a Windows issue you are seeing. Open a CMD prompt and type "ver".

This NX issue happened a while ago with a different version of Reaper.

No idea what caused it. I'm simply happy the plugin worked again. I have no idea how the Waves shell works, which is what all plugins are accessed through.

Good that it works again. Waves Central seems quite stable these days. I'll report back if anything goes wrong with v5.40 of Reaper.

Yeah it can sometimes be a lengthy process for the servers to connect and download the relevant data. Glad it seems to have worked though.

There was a time, almost a year ago, whenever I installed a new Waves plugin if I started Reaper first, there was a problem. But if I started Cubase first, everything worked fine, and then if I closed Cubase and started Reaper, everything still worked fine. This was before Waves was officially supporting Reaper, so I don't know if it's still relevant.

Default Waves NLS crashing Reaper

I'm mixing a 53 track project. All have a bunch of plugins and run smoothly ...but it seems that when I try to add an "fx chain" to any of the tracks it hangs for a long time saying "reaper not responding"... but it eventually recovers but then the fx GUI's don't showup and then I have to restart Reaper. Acts like it's out of mem but that's not the case (specs below). It seems more likely that it's being caused by my two fav plugins: "Waves NLS" and "Waves SSL4000" ch strips. (These two plugins are in the fx chains that I tried to add recently where this problem occurred.) Anyone else have this issue?

What about with many tracks? Like over 20 tracks?

I was having the same problem with my ancient Waves plugins, I believe at the same Reaper update. I can't remember the versions (more than 10 years old).

I ended up buying new versions of the ones I used.
