Default Automate track volume without affecting FX

I have a vocal part with some strong convolution reverb. I'd like the vocals to fade in/out according to my automation envelope, but this also affects the lingering sounds from the reverb.

Is there a way to detach the volume of the track from the final volume of track + FX? I could of course render the automation envelope to the track's waveform and then add reverb on top of that, but that is quite destructive and inconvenient.

Default

you could put the reverb on another track and take it off the vocal track but leave the vol automation...

then make a send to that other reverb track and kill the Master Parent out on the original track...

that could even give you separate automation on the reverb if wanted
