Default Question about settings for TDR: Nova (Tokyo Dawn Labs)

I was noticing that on this plugin that it has presets and two of them are for De-ess.

I was wondering, there are two of them that say:

De-ess (Split)
De-ess(linked)

I just want a simpeDe-ess er. Can someone please explain what the (Split) and (linked) are referring to?

Assuming you are using a stereo track its pretty straightforward.
Split means you are doing the left & right separately, link means - well, you get the picture.

I am lucky enough that I only use my studio for me and very pro friends, so I seldom if ever have to use a de-esser, so apologies if my assumptions are wrong.

TDR Nova Manual https://www.tokyodawn.net/labs/Nova/Manual.pdf?x12957

I just did a simple keyword search within the document to find the answers. Fo example

Split (button)
If pressed, the select band will use its own fully independent dynamics processor, which in turn listens to the
band’s own bandwidth; it includes independent control over RATIO and timing.

I'm not sure if you're looking for paid or free when it comes to DeEssers, there are soo many out there

https://www.kvraudio.com/plugins/deesser <--- Might be a good place to start

Waves has a pretty cheap one less than $30 https://www.waves.com/plugins/deesse...rs-and-cymbals

can't be that and very simple to use

Chris at AirWindows has a simple deEsser:

I happen to like the lack of GUI too. It makes me listen.
