Thanks for the refresh button. While on it, maybe also buttons for forward/backward and random?

This is still not working in RC2: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=246221
Please remove the unfinished feature until it is done, because it is confusing to have it in, if it is not working at all.

While we are working on so many media explorer related features. Can we pls have ixml metadata fields for subproject files ? Soundminer can read reaper subproject files. So i have been making fully tweakable designed sound libraries. It would be so useful if reaper can write into ixml fields for subproject files

That's interesting! If you save project render metadata with the project, it should be trivially readable from the RPP-PROX file, in the RENDER_METADATA section.

I am sorry.. I don’t understand what you mean .. where is this option ?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aAT...ew?usp=sharing
The audio level on this video is very low . So pls turn it up when you listen to it .. sorry
Here is a video link of how I am making my subprojects. Can you pls help me how I can do what you are saying and how I can incorporate that in my existing workflow ? Pls
Also I noticed there is no way of saving the metadata settings in the "Render To File" Window. It would be very useful to save it as a preset and recall that in other projects..Pls

If you add render metadata while you are working in your subproject, that metadata should be saved inside the .RPP-PROX file, the same way render metadata is saved in any project. The metadata is saved in plain text, so Soundminer or any other application that supports reading .RPP or .RPP-PROX files should be able to read the metadata too.
If it isn't clear what I mean, open up a subproject, add some render metadata, save the subproject, then open the .RPP-PROX file in a text editor and look for the <RENDER_METADATA section.

@svijayrathinam
Yes, if I understood Schwa correctly.
Just add them via the Metadata-option in the Render to file-dialog when you are in the subproject-project. The next time, the rpp-prox-file is created, it should be in there and can be read from the rpp-prox-files.

Yes, you can also access that dialog via the main File menu, Project Render Metadata menu item.

Rpp-prox time stamp
Since Vijay brought it up RPP metadata... is there a way to also have the rrp-Prox embed a time stamp so we can use “move to preferred location” on it? Or if we send the rpp-Prox .wav to another application we could spot it in place.

I tried that. it doesn't save any metadata. I am on Reaper v6.18 Dev1212. It definitely doesn't work. Also I remember seeing an export and save option for the metadata Fields in the project render metadata window. has it been removed ?

Now that I think about it, I'm sure you are talking about the .RPP-PROX file and not the subproject .RPP file. That makes more sense because the .RPP-PROX file is just a renamed .wav file, so it's not surprising that another application is able to read it -- I was surprised that the other application was able to support .RPP files.
In any case, we can add the subproject metadata to the rendered .RPP-PROX wav file, which is your actual request.

+ Takes: fix potential crash when replacing multiple occurrences of the same source media [p=2378037]
Thanks.
Speaking of take bugs. Is it a bug that right clicking on an item and changing its take via the menu option only changes it for that one item and not any of its grouped items (even if all selected)?
This makes it hard to quickly change takes on say multitracked drums that are grouped and doesn't seem like intended behaviour?

Would be great if you would also add optional flac and wavepack for .RPP-PROX file format.

I was thinking the same since now there can be a lot of metadata fields with different info. Having presets in the Metadata window would be a huge time saver! thx!!!

For those interested, the images for these are:
gen_back
gen_back_on
gen_forward
gen_forward_on
gen_refresh
gen_up

Is the media explorer able to show (or edit?) RPP-PROX metadata? I am looking at a .RPP file in media explorer, and I have set the project metadata using "show project render metadata window."
I am hoping that I can see a list of .rpp files (subprojects, specifically), with metadata. Ideally I would be able to edit the metadata directly from media explorer, but if I have to edit it from within the project that's fine.

Hm, no, I don't think the media explorer can display metadata for rpp-prox files. The metadata is saved in the file in plain text, though, if that helps.

Is this an appropriate place to request that either Reaper write the metadata into .RPP-PROX files, or that it read metadata from them (wherever the disconnect is)? Or should I make a new thread for a feature request?
I wouldn't expect to be able to write the metadata to files from the Media Explorer. But, I would definitely like to set Artist / Title / Album / Description in the project metadata, and have that appear in Media Explorer.
