Default Stock JSFX GUI and Tukan's Library Mod

Hey, I previously did 32 embedded versions for my most used JSFX, based on Geraint's UI Library. This library had many limitations and I got an idea from EduSerra to use Tukan's jsfx as a base for the GUI code.

So after a week or so here is a sample of this library mod, the well known 1175 compressor, Tukan's LA-2Kan with a customized gui and a gui for FairlyChildish 2 Compressor (the one with mid/side processing). I added sidechain and bypass functionality. It supports mcp embedding.

You can download it from this dropbox link

At the moment the only things I modified are stacked images handling (like knobs), buttons and gain reduction vu-meters. The gui has much of tukan's features like automatic scaling.

To install it just copy "D JSFX" folder into your /Effects/ folder

NOTE: If you use linux, in the ".jsfx" files replace the @gfx line with the linux comment, this is due to different minimum width for jsfx in linux than in windows

I will continue making a gui and embedded version for all the previous jsfx I did, so no reapack repository yet until I finish all of them, you can read the blueprint to make a gui for your jsfx, I tried to comment it as much as I could, and make it so you have to write as little code as possible.

The designs currently used are modifications from Analog Obsession effects and some pngs from Tukan, I’m not a graphic designer, so the overall layout can be improved, that’s another reason not to put them on reapack yet, I hope someone can help in making original designs as I mentioned in my previous thread=)

I'll be uploading each finished jsfx to that dropbox folder as soon as I finish each; enjoy it!

Love this.... Thanks. So many JS plugs would benefit from a face lift.

One thing, though..... Your input and output knobs are correctly labelled for a "real" 1176 comp, but this JS version works differently and that left knob is actually a threshold adjustment. So, you might want to change that label as it's a bit confusing. If someone turns up an input knob they expect to see more gain reduction, but on this plug, turning up that knob raises the threshold and causes less gain reduction.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers!

Good catch, I changed the label to "Threshold"

Also uploaded a new effect, it's exactly the same as Tukan's La-2Kan Opto Compressor, only difference is the gui, mcp embedding and the default for peak reduction is now 0.

I'm still working on the rest of the jsfx, ideas and suggestions are welcome =)

Default Credit?

Seems a bit dishonest to not at least mention that you've cobbled these together from Analog Obsession's GUIs...

FWIW, there is another thread by the same OP and there's an acknowledgement in the first post.

Default Still working

Added FairlyChildsidh compressor, I pondered adding independent left/right processing but I don´t have much experience with audio processing and was scared of breaking something, anyway it works exactly as the original, I added sidechain and a bypass button. It was a bit challening designing the embedded version with the button to switch pages (left/right or mid/side) and backgrounds, but not too tedious thanks to the modded library.

I've been bussy with school these last few days but still working on the rest of jsfx

Default Another Compressor

Added Major Tom Compressor, I'm still not convinced with the embedded version, any ideas, remove some buttons from embedded version, bigger labels, etc, are welcome =)

It looks fine on my 200px wide mixer side panel. Without (or with a smaller) side panel it becomes very small (for my old eyes&#128514.
But compliments for your good work💪👍

Default Added Sonic Anomaly JSFX

I modded two Sonic Anomaly JSFX to fit the minimum width for Reaper JSFX and to fit the embedded mcp mode.

Also showed credits for the jsfx authors in th gui, Tukan, Stillwell and Sonic Anomaly

thanks again for this Demian. However, with the S.L.A.X compressor the meter needle shifts (fx embed 100 /200)

Tested the Transpire on my drum track btw...... realy nice results 👍

These are great! This makes the JSFX look as good as they sound.

One thing... The Fairly Childish doesn't have sidechain inputs (3&4).

Thanks for all you do!

nice looks, though performance hogs and useful like red brake calipers in the end
