Default How to put FX postfader?

Hello. I need to place track volume fader BEFORE plugins. How can I do it?

Example: I have kick track that goes in to kick bus. I have plugins on kick bus.
I want to delete kick bus and move all those plugins on kick track.

BUT

Kick track was at volume level -3.8 db.
So, it was kicking bus plugins on gain -3.8 db.

If I simply move those plugins from bus to track I will drive them +3.8 db hotter than before.

I know I can place gain trim plugin first in the chain, but why should I?
I dont want to add new plugins, I want simple solution.

There's always the pre-FX volume envelope.

Just load a volume FX (JSfx:Volume) before the plugins.
Now pretend that Volume FX was the track Fader.

That is the simplest solution... until we have a feature to unify FX\Sends slots (which will never happen).

  • The pre-FX envelope shows a knob in the Track header
  • you can use a Volume plugin somewhere in the FX chain and have it's parameter be shown a knob in the FX header via envelope.
  • You can use another track and route it's post-Fader stream to the track with the FX chanin (supposedly the most convenient way).(If you hide the FX track in the mixer, you have quite exactly the desired view).

Another, somewhat kludgy, way to do it is to create a new track and send your source track Pre-FX to it (and nowhere else).
