Default External SSD for working on projects on Mac Mini & Macbook?

Hey Guys,

I'll do the complete switch from Windows to Mac in a few days, and I bought an external SSD, where I want to save all my Projects.

Is it possible to just stick the SSD into the MacBook and to work on the MacBook and save it to the SSD and at home I'll stick it back to the Mac Mini and it will work seamless?

What would be the best use-case scenario in my case?

Thank you!

It should work fine, as long as you have the same plugins and versions on both Macs.

Why don't you use your macbook for both? I switched to mac two years ago and had to make that decision. I went with just a macbook pro and take that with me. Have my projects on an external SSD as well, which is no problem.

I do this, and it works fine for Reaper projects and my sound/sample libraries. Just be aware that if you start to install plugins and apps on the SSD, some of them may have issues with this methodology.
