Default recording track volume and master track volumes different

Hi guys,

I read a bunch of threads regarding volumes and recording levels but I have an issue that I couldn't find an answer to.

When I arm a track and set levels to record my guitar via Peavey revalver I notice that when I keep my signal below/around -18 on my recording track
the Master track volume is always louder (-6)

However when I attempted to record with my v-amp pro (very similar to a line 6 POD) My recording track and Master track read exactly the same levels (identicle)If I set my recording level to -18 I get exactly -18 on the master track too.

I prefer to use Peavey Revalver 4 but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I try to search as much as possible before posting any questions and appreciate any advice

when recording, the track meter shows the input, always.

With a plugin you're seeing the direct input of the guitar, the master shows the output of the plugin.
