Default Fine or Coarse CC control modes?

Hey,

Is there a way to toggle 'fine' or 'coarse' modes for parameter control.

For example, I have CC1 bound to an EQ Freq. parameter. I want to move the sweep the entire range using a Midi controller knob. I also want to fine tune the frequency, but the absolute mode is not high enough infidelity to do so, jumping too much when changing from 1 midi value to the next.

Can anyone think of a way to get finer control (other than OSC), or a way of containing controller values to certain ranges of any given parameter?

In many instances, Reaper can do high resolution CC, i.e. using CC1 together with CC33.

Yes, you can do it internally using Parameter Modulation / MIDI Link.

But (as far as I can find) MIDI controller hardware only sends 7-bit CC messages. So the resolution is restricted to 128 values.

Hi hscottaudio

I've been in the same situation. One option is using double precision CC messages as mschnell points. Other is using NRPN. In both cases you get much higher resolution.

In my case I used NRPN messages (which most plugins don't understand), so I put ReaLearn in between.

Cheers!
