Actually I got the same result with my new radeon rx580 8Gb than with my old radeon 5450 512Mo and I just can"t read my project without drops so I can't edit my items to fit with the music and have a good idea of the final render. thks for any helps ! |

Hi Jon,
thanks for this precision, so I own a core-i7-3770 and my CPU doesn't seem overload (less than 35%) so why the video playback is it laggy ?? Do you know if the backend for reaper video playback is VLC and if tweaking VLC will help to improve reaper's playback performences ? |

VLC player settings won't make a difference in reaper
But there are many things to tweak and optimize for better video preformance 1 - project settings / Video - is the frame size matched to the source? - is the frame rate matched to the source? 2 - right-click the video item, source properties, check "ignore audio" 3 - right-click the video window, explorer the performance options

Thanks for your anwsers, but the project I'm talking about is a PNG files based with a bunch of animations/fx.
Actually I have to make a render to evaluate my video, and I hoped it has a way to use my new card to get better results in playback. |

ERRATUM : For those passing by and having the same troubles, try also to avoid working on NAS. I've transfered my projec t from my NAS (connected as a network drive in windows) and work on a local SSD, it not solves all the problems but really improve stuff !
