E:\REAPER4\ProjectTemplates\Defalt 1 - Copy.RPP
E:\REAPER4\ProjectTemplates\Defalt 1.RPP

i can email you the hole thing if needed but removing the templates solves the problem

{EDIT}a template called "20102.RPP" seems to be the culprit adding a letter to the file name solved it

Well done Tim! (and AdamWathan) Thanks for the time selection + grid + swivel actions! It works great. Very stylish swivel-style!

May I so daft to ask in which scenario would the "ignore next marker" action be useful in ?

hi everyone and creators of SWS
excited newbie here
i want to thank you for "Snapshot" especially.

one question.. is it possible to make an action or SWS option for the ignoring specific track(s) to do not snapshot them.?..even they are selected..
some kinda :
"toggle never snapshot selected tracks" may be ?

thank you.

and one file i want to share with community
need Geist and latest SWS .
i made a track with using (tons of) ReaControlMidi as a fake dashboard to control Geist because of too many glitches-crashes etc. if i directly snapshot movements from vst windows..so in this case Geist.
anyway here is the project link
you need to load Geist Map manually which is included the rar file.

Posted beta #17:

Added actions (issue 165, Win only):
+SWS/S&M: Focus main window (close others)
+SWS/S&M: Focus next window (cycle, hide/unhide others)
+SWS/S&M: Focus previous window (cycle, hide/unhide others)
Remark: for these actions, keyboard shortcuts must use modifiers in order to pass-through to the main window (ex: Ctrl+minus = focus previous, Ctrl+plus = focus next)

House cleaning, removed "duplicated" actions (remaining focus actions now also focus the main window on cycle):
+SWS/S&M: Focus previous floating FX for selected tracks (+ main window on cycle)
+SWS/S&M: Focus next floating FX for selected tracks (+ main window on cycle)
+SWS/S&M: Focus previous floating FX (+ main window on cycle)
+SWS/S&M: Focus next floating FX (+ main window on cycle)

New actions from Adam Wathan:
+SWS/AW: Enable 'link time selection and edit cursor'
+SWS/AW: Disable 'link time selection and edit cursor'
+SWS/AW: Toggle 'link time selection and edit cursor'
+SWS/AW: Enable clear loop points on click in ruler
+SWS/AW: Disable clear loop points on click in ruler
+SWS/AW: Toggle clear loop points on click in ruler
+SWS/AW: Set project timebase to time
+SWS/AW: Set project timebase to beats (position only)
+SWS/AW: Set project timebase to beats (position, length, rate)

S&M Notes/help view: optimizations, fixed issue 204 (actions were not refreshed when the view was docked)
S&M GUI tweaks
Bug fixes for "Fill Gaps" and "AW Fade" actions

Hi Tim,
for some odd reason, I'm not seeing extensions from Reapers main menu. Has that changed? Also was wondering about command parameters. Thanks, Wyatt

Yes, you should see the Extensions menu now. I don't believe we have anything for switching fx presets, sorry.

Would be very cool for many things (especially for live performance).

I'm doing all my best lobbying for that for 3 years now.. I tried everything! I asked politely first, then I made some noise (not sure.. but I may have whined a bit too), I tried humor, I implemented things 2 Cockos employees asked for, I even met reaSpy 007 (a guy closed to Cockos) in an underground carpark, he refused to carry my FR in a black suitcase, of course, but I had some hope..

I tried everything! So now I can tell for sure there's no way one can get his very own FR implemented. NO WAY
Well, here's my last "meta" tentative.. But I dare I'll still have to use my poor's man workaround..

CTRL focus is stolen by the FX window when you create a custom action for "save project" that uses the new SWS&M "focus main window" action.

ie, if you create a custom action for "focus main window, save project" and set it to CTRL S...and then open the FX browser and hit CTRL S, the "Save fx chain" window opens instead of save project...

dunno if there's anything yall can do about this but it drives me nuts...

ever hear the one about the pirate who goes to the doctor complaining of genital pains?
dr instructs pirate to remove his trousers, only to see a ship's wheel tied to the poor man's 2 bits
"sir," says the dr, "what is that wheel doing there?"
"arrr," said the pirate, "it's drivin me nuts!!"

Hi guys,

Just wondering, what does "relative editing when resizing item edges" actually do?

I've tried resizing multiple items' edges but it doesn't seem to affect that.

@ AdamWathan , you've added a number of new actions to the extension, would it be possible for you to make an updated tutorial on how you do drum editing with all these new action/features? Cheers. Thanks again.

The relative edge editing preference was a V3 thing that was moved to being a mouse modifier in v4 so that's broken now, it's actually already pulled from the source so it'll be gone in the next build.

None of my new actions are drum editing related actually! Lately just been concentrating on creating toolbar toggles and stuff for preferences that I feel aren't "set and forget" stuff so the user can quickly toggle them on and off.

I'm probably misunderstanding these actions but how do "Float next fx..." and "Float previous fx..." work? I thought I could use them to go through all FXs in a track, one by one.

[EDIT] They seem to float only the last and first FXs in the track... weird. I don't get it.

[EDIT2] Ahhh but I can create a macro like THIS hehe nice!

What is the status of the experimental smooth scroll feature? Will it be further developed? I really like using it, except when it is active it prevents another window (like project settings, actions or similar) from accepting any input, including cancel and OK. The only way out is X in the upper right corner of that window, or turning off smooth scrolling.

Posted build #18:

Added actions:
"SWS: Toggle auto add envelopes when tweaking in write mode"
"SWS: Toggle grid lines over/under items"
"SWS: Horizontal scroll to put play cursor at 10%"
Readded "Command parameters" to the Extensions menu
Fix crash when parsing a MIDI take with a large extended MIDI event.

is there not also a FNG fix in this build?

Just adding my support for this issue, even though I know it's probably hopeless.

I think this is something Justin would have to build into the main Reaper functionality, including numbered slots for the user-presets. That way, besides toggling forward & back, the numbers could be recalled from external hardware.

Sadly, like you I sent detailed "instructions" on how to best implement this, over 3 years ago. (lots of other "live performance" specific idea as well, and have been routinely ignored.
----------------

Jeffos, do you know if Ableton Live has such functionality?

Additional thoughts on this:

Some plugins do have their own internal preset managers, of course, and a very few also include "forward - backward" buttons. One example is Sound Toys.

So, you would think that one could use Reaper's "parameter - learn" function to assign those buttons to a hardware controller. Alas, they do no show as an option in the parameter-learn selector.

I will have to ask ST about this, but in the meantime, perhaps THIS is something that could be accomplished with SWS / S&M ???

--------------

And BTW- similarly, you can't use "parameter - learn" to toggle an audio plugin on & off. (only JS type plugins)

It is for these issues that I am just now looking into SWS / S&M. Fingers crossed ..........

Ok, given some discussions in the forums I've published my "private" FX preset actions (will be available in the next SWS beta).
A few remarks about that though:
- as discussed above, there's no proper API for that so what I did is somehow a hack (yeah.. I reeeaally needed that ), it's just like if you were opening an FX window & changing the preset manually => not elegant but working & safe
- FX preset actions are only supported in v4 (I have this working for v3 too, contact me if really interested)
- I've published them for OSX too but I'm not confident they'll work on Mac, please let me know..
^^ EDITED (November 2013): forget that! These FX preset actions are safe now, incl. on OS X (proper APIs now...).
I've also published the "User preset" column in the S&M Live Config window..

the coming preset actions are:
Code:
Added FX preset actions (v4 only):
+SWS/S&M: Trigger next preset for selected FX of selected tracks
+SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for selected FX of selected tracks
+SWS/S&M: Trigger next preset for FX n of selected tracks - where 'n' is in [1; 4]
+SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for FX n of selected tracks - where 'n' is in [1; 4]
Remark: works with any type of FX, any presets (user or factory presets)

Added FX preset MIDI actions (in the section "S&M Extension", see top right dropdown in the action dialog box):
+SWS/S&M: Trigger preset for selected FX of selected tracks (MIDI CC absolute only)
+SWS/S&M: Trigger preset for FX n of selected tracks (MIDI CC absolute only) - where 'n' is in [1; 4]
Remarks: these actions work with any presets (user or factory presets). They are a bit different from the native "Link to PG change" feature: they work with any type of FX (e.g. JS). Bonus: since v4, "Program Change" MIDI events can be learned.
.. and, since we're on the border line, I also published something else I reeeaally needed:

Offscreen item selection/deselection

It's something to prevent user errors. You know, when you edit items but *not all* selected items are visible in the arrange...
...AAaarrrrggg! I don't know how many sessions we've messed up because of that!
So I've added:
Code:
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar - Toggle offscreen item selection
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar - Toggle offscreen item selection (left)
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar - Toggle offscreen item selection (right)
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar - Toggle offscreen item selection (top)
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar - Toggle offscreen item selection (bottom)
^^ EDITED (November 2013): renamed actions + OS X support. A new action "SWS/S&M: Unselect offscreen items" can be handy too.

These actions allow you selecting/unselecting offscreen items.
When these actions are added in a toolbar, related buttons automatically light-up when at least one selected item is offscreen (the option "Main menu > Extensions > SWS options > Auto-refresh toolbars" must be enabled).

Example:

Other "auto refresh" stuff is coming soon..

Sorry for the late reply.. Yes, these actions (like many S&M "focus window" actions) are for "Alt-tabish" switch between windows..

But no prob here MN, they work fine.. There's a pitfall you probably got in the meantime (your EDIT2): you can't make them work from the action list by clicking on "Run", you *MUST* assign them to key shortcuts (detail: they deduce the next/prev window to be shown from the current focused window, but when you perform the action from the action dialog box, this one grabs the focus when clicking "run". not sure that's clear.. oh! well..). edit: I workarounded that in the next build but this constrainst remain there for all "focus" actions.

Hi Tim,

Would it be possible to add "auto layout" feature to "autocolor" window ?

It would be useful to tidy up sessions that contain tracks of midi,
audio, instrument, and send tracks.

Many themes have custom tcp to separate tracks from each other,
to increase visibility.

This would also be useful to add separator tracks, example :
Key in track name as "separator", instantly, the track's tcp layout
switches to a blank tcp, muted, and locked.

Hope you could chime in on the posibilities of this?

If it's do-able, I'll repost in the google tracker.

Thanks for listening.

Hi Tim

Thanks for all the hard work...........

There seems to be something funny going on with.

Switch item source file to previous in file
Switch item source file to next in file

Its using the files from the project bay instead of the originating folder. This is fairly cool but it would be nice to have the old behavior back aswell

Default 2.0.0.19

Posted v2.0.0.19:

Added toolbar actions with "auto-refreshed" button states (if the new option "Main menu > Extensions > SWS Options > Enable toolbars auto refresh" is ticked):
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar right item selection toggle
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar left item selection toggle
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar top item selection toggle - WIN ONLY!
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar bottom item selection toggle - WIN ONLY!
These actions are to prevent user errors: related toolbar buttons will light up when some selected items are not visible in the arrange.
Clicking related buttons will also deselect items that are out of the current scope and re-selects them on toggle.
See details, howto and toolbar auto-refresh anim http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...ount=315|here|.
+AW's grid actions button states now reflect the current grid setting (when changed elsewhere in REAPER)
See grid toolbar auto-refresh anim https://stash.reaper.fm/8523/awGridToolbar.gif|here| and details about Adam's grid actions http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=706294|here|.
+SWS/S&M: Toolbar track envelopes in touch/latch/write mode toggle
This action sets track envelopes that are in one of the write modes into read mode and re-sets those previous write modes on toggle. Related toolbar buttons will light up if any envelope is in one of the write modes.
+SWS/S&M: Toggle toolbars auto refresh enable

Added FX preset actions (v4 only, see implementation remarks http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...ount=315|here|). They works with any type of FX and any presets (user or factory presets):
+SWS/S&M: Trigger next preset for selected FX of selected tracks
+SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for selected FX of selected tracks
+SWS/S&M: Trigger next preset for FX n of selected tracks - where 'n' is in [1; 4]
+SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for FX n of selected tracks - where 'n' is in [1; 4]
+SWS/S&M: Trigger preset for selected FX of selected tracks (MIDI CC absolute only)
+SWS/S&M: Trigger preset for FX n of selected tracks (MIDI CC absolute only) - where 'n' is in [1; 4]
Remarks: these 2 last MIDI actions are present in the "S&M Extension" section (see top right dropdown in the action dialog box). They are a bit different from the native "Link to PG change" feature: they work with any type of FX (e.g. JS). Bonus: since v4, "Program Change" MIDI events can be learned.
+S&M Live config view: the "User preset" column is back !

Added other actions:
+SWS/S&M: Pan active takes of selected items to 100% right
+SWS/S&M: Pan active takes of selected items to 100% left
+SWS/S&M: Pan active takes of selected items to center
Note: "pan takes" not "pan cakes".
+SWS/S&M: Dump action list (w/o SWS extension) - WIN ONLY!
+SWS/S&M: Dump action list (w/ SWS extension) - WIN ONLY!
Note: dumped files are formatted (openable in Excel for example). See how to use these 2 actions http://wiki.cockos.com/wiki/index.ph...ion_list|here|.

Find view:
+SWS/S&M: Find next
+SWS/S&M: Find previous
+Preserve the searched string (when closing, undocking, etc.)
+Added shortcuts when the view is focused (F3 = find next, shift-F3 = find previous)

Fixes, tweaks, house cleaning:
+Fixed issue 287 (Unexpected behavior of "SWS/S&M: focus next floating fx for selected tracks (cycle)")
+Many S&M track FX (and FX chain) actions run faster ("fix" for http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...4&postcount=13)
+All S&M track envelope arming actions now support v4 panning (width/dual pan)
+Updated "SWS/S&M: Dump ALR Wiki summary [snip]" actions (FNG extension merge)
+Removed "SWS/S&M: Toggle show all routing windows" (too much limitations)
+Removed "SWS/S&M: Toggle show all envelope windows" (too much limitations)
+Removed "SWS/S&M: Save selected item as item/take template..." (private)

I don't know if it was mentioned earlier - I couldn't find a fix on the forum.

I cannot apply groove preset from groove tool. Getting user preset and applying it to my part works very good. But selecting existing preset from list and trying to apply it results in "Error Reading File" pop-up.

I've checked - groove files exist in my Reaper resources folder. I work on Win7 64 with reaper v4, 32bit.

Thanks for latest update tim and jeffos!

Looking forward to some snapshot love when your ready for it as it looks like the two way update will allow you to detect what tracks are selected and show only snapshots for those tracks, yeah!

thanks for great extension, guys!
And I have a question - can you make action 'Add regular markers at tempo/time signature markers' ?
I need this for splitting an items in places of tempo change markers, for straighten free tempo recorded audio to fixed grid.
When take place such work, there is about 200 tempo changes, and manually clicking on tempo markers and adding regular markers taking lot of time.

If you can do this, thanks!

Those all are selected. As I wrote before: I can perform "get user groove" from oother MIDI Item and then apply it to those notes. But I cannot apply any other preset than "user groove".

I tried the new dump but it doesn't dump everything in one go. I want all including sws in one file if possible including the category and id. Thanks for any help with this. Also, if you filter to find this action the dump returns nothing until you remove the filter. :-)
