Default Force notes to stay on ledger lines in the notation editor?

In the notation editor, is there a way to force notes to stay on a ledger line below the treble and above the bass clefs? E.g. F above middle C played with the left hand as Bass clef, or F below middle C played with the right as part of the treble clef.

This is what I'm talking about. The notes on ledger lines below middle C automatically snap to the bass clef.

This sounds interesting. Where do I find that setting? Doing it notes by note is a pain?

You can find those actions in the Action list, MIDI editor context.

Thanks I founds it.

Please pardon my ignorance, but what exactly do "first pair" and "second pair" reference? Which staff are we referencing Treble, bass, both?

When set, will this be the default, or must it be run when I restart reaper, or a new project.

Thanks for your help.

The settings in the context menu for top/bottom staff and in the action list for first of pair/second of pair are the exact same thing. The developers do not care about UX and word things randomly, so user's confusion is natural in this case.

These settings apply only to selected notes. After you set it manually to each selected note, they stay that way.

If you want to change the split point between the top and bottom staff, that is not possible at the moment. Recently I saw a feature request on it, maybe try to look for that and support it.
