Default Zoom unreliable with UM-2 under Windows 10

My Behringer UPHORIA UM-2 hardware and drivers work great with REAPER on my Windows 10 PC, but I'm having a problem using this setup with Zoom. The problem is that Zoom tends to suddenly drop the audio input when I join a meeting. I get the message:

"There appears to be an issue with your microphone, please select a different device and try again."

Zoom's audio output to the UM-2 is consistently good; the problem is always the audio input. I do home studio audio recording so I know the mic and interface are working fine.

Zoom and all drivers are up to date. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I think I found the problem--maybe Zoom just doesn't like the Behringer U-Phoria product line? From Zoom support page:

"Note: The Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 interface is only compatible with Windows 10 using the default windows device driver."

Thank you for the feedback Fergler. Do you know that for sure, or is that a guess?

Thanks again.

For sure, I have it. If your interface is listed it's because it's a windows audio driver. Which often don't properly use the inputs.

If you want to use your interface with Zoom I highly suggest grabbing Voicemeeter Banana. Set A1 hardware to ASIO AI, patch your mic input to channel 1 in the settings, and set Zoom and Windows to use Virtual ASIO Aux as their output. Send mic to send to B1 and Zoom input to Virtual ASIO VAIO.

Thanks Fergler! I finally feel like I'm looking at a solution that might work for me. I'll let you know how it goes. Really appreciated!

UPDATE: Success! I installed Voicemeeter Banana (https://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm), messed with some settings and now Zoom and the UM2 are talking. Thanks so much!
