Default Mic advice wanted

Hi. I have 2 mics - 1. EV RE20 large dynamic, 2. AKG C 451 EB small condenser. I do not have a large diaphragm condenser. With only these two available, what advice do you have for micing solo concert instruments: Flute, violin, cello, French horn, clarinet, trumpet? Which can be used in place of a large condenser, & what placement adjustments are needed? Maybe I should use both, side by side & select the best result in post production?
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

I would put the pencil mic up front to get the highs and attack and put the EV RE20 over the shoulder to get the body and room. I would put them both down the center pan or use ADT doubling with about 10 to 20ms delay to add some spread. For direct instruments like trumpet and french horn, put them both in front about 4 to 10 feet away right next to each other and put them on two faders and mix them to taste.

Hi
If you have only two mic ,place one near the instrument and use another mic 1-2 meter away/above to capture ambient/overhead room reverb.
