Space Delay is an instant winner for me. Haven't delved into the other recommendations.

I like the idea of AutoTonic, but the hassle of a standalone program and a virtual MIDI cable puts me off, especially as it won't work with the Media Explorer (like a plugin would).

Thank you! That's so cool!
Some comments (for those who will download the presets):

1. I see that you tuned Shape and Rolloff (that are not available on the original unit) for each preset, I like how it sounds, but for those who want maximum realism, keep in mind that both knobs at 100% is the default.

2. Pay attention that "Custom ..." presets have noise gate enabled at preset threshold.

3. Adjust the Level so the output doesn't get clipped

4. Switch to 4x oversampling. It really opens up the sound (I will work on this problem in future).

Ideally, I need to make an internal preset management system for each unit. And make oversampling, stereo, etc. not part of the preset.

Whoah nice! Thank you! Such a versatile sounding plugin. I noticed that I had to drop my input gain about -27dB for the presets though.

Thanks AXP

I wasn't sure about the speaker sim, so I basically set it to match the presets (Marshall, fender, boogie etc) .
I'm going to resave the lot with both knobs at 100.

I usually run amp sims without oversampling, to conserve as much CPU as possible.
Although I'm sure it sounds better at x4, it sounds pretty damn good to me at x1

I got the preset settings from here:
http://www.popeye-x.com/tech/SansAmp_PSA-1_presets.htm

These values range from 000 to 255.
I simply divided them by 2.5 to get the actual plugin value.

Thanks again for this awesome sim.

I won't be able to try it for a few days, but it seems like the voiceofsnow plugin might be useful for dealing with snares/toms that have too much of a ringing note.

Also try it with fizzy amp sims
It's really good at separating and taming the annoying harshness.

The dev just updated the plugin with two new parameters: tone tilt and separation slope. I found that especially the separation slope is great for bringing back the lost treble (without the annoying fizz). Great plugin!

Hmm.. I imagine it would also work wonders on acoustic guitar string squeaks and fret noise, especially if you first separate them by splitting, then apply the plugin as item fx.

Download the INI file (linked above in post #43) and put that file in your Reaper/presets folder.

Next time you launch reaper and load up softamp, the presets will be there in the dropdown menu.

I'll have to load up VstHost if I want to create an fxb.

The dev hinted that he may create a preset management system for softamp.

Thanks a lot for your comments !

I have just posted a message on my blog about the filters in Spaceship Delay, for the ones interested in a little more technical description of my entry :

https://musicalentropy.github.io/The...aceship-Delay/

And if you have not downloaded the last version of Spaceship Delay yet, that's the moment to do so since I updated a little the filter code (mostly for the German filter, which wasn't good enough in 1.0.1 and 1.0.0)

Nice work, Aeolian ... these presets sound great !!! I have the original hardware PSA-1 from 1993 and I never quite bonded with it, especially with tweaking the presets on it. Because it has a 100% analog signal flow but is controlled digitally you're never really quite sure where the knobs are supposed to be set at for any given tone. And while I sorta understand what each knob/parameter is supposed to do, it's easy to get lost when tweaking it.

Also, in you .ini file, is there a way to disable having certain parameters NOT reset to their default settings when changing presets? Specifically the Oversampling, Denoiser (gate), and Squeezo (compressor) ... AXP's sims benefit greatly at 4x OS vs. 1x and I'd like to have 4x stay on all the time thruout the entire preset library.

Thanks,
Tommy V

Quickest and easiest way would be to resave all 49 presets, with x4 enabled.

Cumbersome, but shouldn't take very long.

Keep the original INI if you want to revert to x1.

This plugin is amazing
Seriously .. I've stopped using IRs because I'm really loving the speaker sim on this beast.
I can't believe how versatile it is.
Crystal clean to scorching death metal.

Some of my fav presets:

Van Halen 1
Super Bright
Mark 1
Hi Gain
Triaxis
Rectifier
Pantera (this one sounds exactly like Vulgar)

Can anyone please help me? I have looked everywhere and tried most places to place this .ini... I have found a presets folder in my REAPER resource path, but for some reason I still don't seem to have any presets in the AXP, even after restarting REAPER.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong, or where to place this file to be able to access the presets?

Thanks guys.

EDIT; Found out why. .ini file was saved with a -1 at end as I'd downloaded twice. So when placed in presets folder AXP SoftAmp did not 'see' it

Nope, but once you have the .ini loaded correctly, you can save that as an rpl or fxb.

This, Simulanalog, and Mercuriall, are still my fav freebies for guitar stuff.

Thanks! Still doesn't work, though. I get a large empty white space in the drop-down now, but no selections. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Not a huge deal, but would've been cool to h ave presets to play around with. I appreciate your help.

Strange. I know that some VST3 plugins had this problem some time ago, but AXP SoftAmp PSA doesn't have a VST3 version anyway, so that's not the problem.
But the AXP SoftAmp PSA install package does have both 64 and 32 bit dlls to choose from. Is your REAPER 32 or 64? And if 64, are you sure REAPER is seeing/loading the 64 bit dll?
