I like it like it is.. Changing the amb level of the vocal will take you out of paying attention to the video if you ask me.
Which might explain why I'm not a frequent church visitor I'm getting several tutorial videos in a near future, great relaxed way to learn..

Just wanted to mention that we've added another free video this week from the

Reaper 4 - Tips and Tricks collection.

Watch it at Groove3.com

It's the "Automating Plugins Video" on that page.

or

Watch it on YouTube

Only a few days before the Half-Price November sale is over.

Also, check out the new "Tracking Rock - Drums" video as well.

Thank you for the support and enjoy.

The "Auto-Panning" is the original one that was given away free.

We've added the "Automating Plugins" as well.

Thanks

Hi Ken,

I've just purchased your R4 T&Ts - quality training material delivered in an excellent style - well done! Having recently made another investment in another guys efforts, your material is streets ahead, IMHO. VFM 10 out of 10.

All the very best for 2013.

Cheers

Thanks for the support.

Also check out Reaper Advanced. It continues where Tips and Tricks leaves off.

Default mixing and mastering

I am new with reaper all i have ever used it for is my ez-drummer and then ran a cord out of my computer and in to my tascam neo and used the preset mix settings and preset master settings i did get a great sound but I have heard some music mixed and mastered on reaper that blew my mind. I now have a m-audio c-600 interface and am in the process of writing a song, any tips with mixing and mastering prog-metal would be appreciated. thanks

Hey Kenny, I have Reaper Tips & Tricks, and I am having trouble following the Drum Editing Pt. 2 video. For some reason I always get lots of pops in my track. Do you know why this is happening?

It only is popping on my bass drum track. It looks like the audio files are overlapping after I quantize them. I have "Trim media content behind media items when editing" turned on, and when I pull a media file back a little and it deletes the underlying track it seems to get rid of the pop. Why is it not trimming automatically?

Is it putting in a crossfade or just overlapping?

Was "Trim media content behind media items when editing" turned on before you started editing?

It's only overlapping.

I turn on "Trim media content behind media when editing" right before I Dynamic Split

Is it possible that either the bass drum was too fast at points or was too out-of-time and that is causing the pops?

PM me your Groove3 username. I'll hook you up with Reaper Advanced. I did it a bit differently in that video because I included the SWS Extensions and every cut gets a fade. I'm curious to see if that will fix it.

Thanks for the offer Kenny, but I already picked it up! I got all your Reaper tutorials of course (I haven't watched through every video yet)

Which video in Reaper Advanced - SWS Extensions is the one I should be looking at?

Fill Gaps.

It goes further (and better) than the one on Tips and Tricks.

Thanks

I missed the November and winter-sales and 110$ for Reaper 4 explained, SWS and tips and tricks is a bit too much for my budget, as I read the whole manual twice^^ - but the demo videos are just superb, and might not only newer users help a real lot.
That's a man who built his own opinion of how Reaper can be streamlined for him, and even if you'd not agree, it seems to make for a great start to setup Reaper best for your own needs. Great job! Wouldn't we live in a Hamburg quartier where the hipsters fell in now and the rent is goin' up the ladder extremely in this old workers' and train station quartier - I had bought all three about Reaper 4. So it's just a "superb!" after watching the demo videos. A sticky is great, and newbies should learn that those videos are here pretty soon.

Hey Kenny.

I read the PT "vs" REAPER blog you did. Do any of your vids cover this?:

With Reaper, you can have it set up to choose a specific color based on the name of the track or what it’s function is (ex: FX return, Master etc). If you want your guitar tracks to all be green, just having the word “guitar” in the name can make that happen, automatically.

Correct.

And everything in "Reaper Advanced" is dedicated to the SWS Extensions.

The links appear to be working fine. You need to purchase the video and then it would be listed in your Groove 3 account.

(I'm assuming you're talking about Kenny's Reaper videos)

+1 awesome value!
I'm slowly learning Reaper and the tutorials were a great time saver, they really go straight to the point and that's cool because there's quite a bit of tweaking to perform in order to get it up and running
still struggling a bit though I'm very pleased with its flexibility so far...
