Default Reaper hangs on start up. (Sorted)

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me. When I try to open my newest project it hangs loading a particular .wav every time, however if I load the project with all plugins disabled then enable them when the project loads it's all fine no problems playing any of the audio files. I've tried resaving it and I've tried freezing the tracks and switching off the plugins and resaving it.

Just find it strange that there seems to be no corrupt audio files as in "safe" mode everything plays... any ideas?

Do you happen to use Kontakt ?

I needed to go back to the previous version of Kontakt, as the newest version hang (and Reaper with it) when starting a project with the track with Kontakt being muted.

I'm using Kontakt and it works well, I just downloaded it about a week ago.

I think you need to look elsewhere for your problem. Most likely your configuration.

No kontakt, but I did update reaper.

Might try to install the previous version, this is the only track I've worked on since the update

disable all of your audio devices and drivers
then start reaper
if it helps
then you get the point

I was having problems with my audio device last week, but why would it only affect one project?

oh.. just one... well.. try opening its backups copy if you have one.
but it is rather a bug of some plugin...try using its different version or vst2\vst3.
also it is not a big problem to tweak a single plugin once again if you can't paste the preset.
if you have a win 8.1
win 10 should fix it MAYBE
because if has smth about fls slots increased which allows you to load more plugins into reaper also...
but the even better way I think is
just forget it
use freezing or rendering more or don't use buggy plugins..
ok they all can be buggy... well.. what can i say, everybody has these problems, so you decide how you deal with it..
