Electostudio free synths
http://elektrostudio.ovh.org/
This was posted on KVR, and the fact that it,s a Polish site and the download is an installer has put people off.
I would definately recommend downloading though. There are ten Vsti in the pack. Eight synths that are emulations of classic synths, a drum machine and a rythym box.
The synths are really good, a few are damn good. I'm having loads of fun with these.
Give em a go.

I'm not sure, LOL, the site looks like any number of shady Russian websites that turn your computer into a zombie. Poles, Norwegians, Czechs... They're all Russian to me :P
I've downloaded the package, I'll wait until more people post feedback to install it

It means it's a set up exe and will install a pack of 10 vst's into a folder.
I virus check everything, and its clean.
It just installs into a folder, thats it.
They are really good, you will love them.
A link to each of the dll's have been posted at KVR.

AFAIK, it should be possible to extract the .dll files with some compression utilities, then just place them in your VST folder. Most likely the dlls themselves don't do the infecting, the installer does. Unless they do super hardcore programming and copy protection like Native Instruments does, then the VSTs themselves are probably contained entirely within the individual dll files.

i went ahead and checked them out any way, cause i'm like that. i've just never noticed a file showing that :zone.identifier thing.
i'm not a synth guy, but these look and sound pretty cool. the drum pattern thing is pretty cool, too.

I'll try these later when I have time, but the feedback everywhere seems overwhelmingly positive. I actually read the entire KVR thread, and every comment said "OMG, most amazing synths ever..."

that's all, you can download it to see the other 4..
I'm not so sure yet that they are made in either SE or SM. Someone would need to look under the hood. I scanned the package with Avast, AVGfree and Malwarebytes. All said it was clean.
Some nice, gritty sounds.

All 10 dll's extracted and zipped on Rapidshare. They're exceptionally good, as far as I get SynthEdit with some extra coding, no virii found with avast double check (installer and extracted dll's)
Hope the fact that I'm Russian doesn't scare off _Devin here

Hopefully you can tell that I was joking.
TBH though, I'm sure you are well aware that the Russian(and Soviet satellites) part of the internet is absolute anarchy, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you're doing...

Both drum-machines are fun to play with, I also liked th Or2v (can't quite be sure what it emulates -- guess an Oberheim?)

LOL, NATO ain't what it used to be... Don't act too surprised when Norwegian soldiers come marching across your border to "secure" Russian oil wells

Following zappadave’s post #4, I read through all the kvr posts and got the synths being emulated from the gvnz post half way down the page at the link below.
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewto...r=asc&start=90
To my untrained synth ear these are absolute gems. This must be the ‘find’ of the year. I love the retro sounds. Also, I know it’s cosmetic, but it’s so neat that you can open the hood of the tapeotronic (i.e. mellotron) and see an animation of the tape drums.
Does anyone understand the language of the creator so we can get the background to these VSTi's and whether there’s a Paypal link. These really do deserve donations.
Pete

Here you go: http://soundcloud.com/electric-hippi...o-express-demo
00:00 - 00:15 Micromoon (Micromoog)
00:16 - 00:33 eSLine (Solina) + Rhythmus
00:33 - 00:48 Moon Sono SX (Moog Sonic Six)
00:49 - 01:19 Or2v (Oberheim 2-Voice)
01:20 - 01:44 ODsay (ARP Oddysey) + Ocet
01:45 - 03:12 ODsay + Tapeotronic (Mellotron) + all of the above
Didn't find a purpose for Davo Synth and SxMJune here, there were already 20 synths in that project, meaning the SE multiple instance bug is not present. Some SE quirks are remaining though - the internal arps won't stop as usual when "Don't flush synthesizers on stop" is checked (bad since other SE synths need this enabled and it causes a pretty bad delay when hitting play with 20 instances) and don't stop occasionally even when that option is unchecked. The Moon Sono SX passage shows a strange offset on the waveform for some reason.
The collection is outstanding because it covers some synths that don't have already 20 simulations on the market. The Or2v and the Moon Sono SX are the only VAs of these models I know. It seems they really nailed the character of the Solina and I'm confident that the other synths are not far off either. Awesome stuff at any rate, many thanks for making them, Robert Krzywicki...

a little word of warning about these most excellent (to quote bill and ted) sounding synths. the micromoon plug suddenly increased in volume on me yesterday without warning and scared the crap out of me. have a quick read here...
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=251545
it will be a real shame if they prove to be buggy as they sound fantastic and the cpu usage is unbelievably low...

OK, LOL, after all of the shit-talking I've done(and offending all of Eastern Europe and Russia in the process), I've actually tried these, and I concur with everyone else that the are quite good, better than a normal good synth.
Not only that, but I despise synths that try to recreate the look and sound of vintage synths. Having said that, I expect to get regular use out of these, which should speak volumes about just how good they really are.
So, I extend a heart-felt "thank you" to the OP for sharing these on the Reaper forum.

But can we legally use these synths in our music production for commercial purposes such as making a track for a client or making our own song/beats?
Will the writers of these synths have a problem, do we need to pay them?

As reported in the KVR thread, there is some mem leaking going on. Since the test project uses almost all of them and most of them in 3-6 instances, memory usage is climbing pretty fast and I have to check them one by one which one is responsible for that. Besides that no crashes or issues so far, I had one occasion where one instance of cantrememberwhat created a 3 gazillion decibel signal and Reaper muted the main output but I ignored it. Didn't happen again.

its a real shame as this bug makes them unusable for me. if there's one thing i really really hate its bugs that cause sudden surges in volume. i don't want to have to keep changing my underwear whilst writing a tune!! just dabbled around with them for an hour or two in both reaper and podium and it has happened a few times...
