Default syncing a x0xb0x to Reaper

Hi there,

I try to sync my x0xb0x to Reaper as I do with my other gear: connecting the midi and sending clock to the midi out of the track. It works but the problem is this: if I press stop in Reaper, the x0xb0x stops but the start-led is still on in most cases (sometimes the led is off when I stop somewhere between the last beat of a bar and the first of the next). The burning led makes x0xb0x think that it is running and in modes like "write mode" the sequencer needs to be stopped before you can apply any action.

Is there anybody that recognise this and can help me out?
I checked all the options in the hardware but nothing there to change this.

Did you try this vst, load into Reaper, Reaper master, hardware slave. It should work.

wouldn't this just send a continuous clock, exacerbating the OPs problem?

Have you tried without SPP, or is that needed for what you are doing? (not that i know anything about the xoxbox - just random speculation on my part)

Are you stopping Reaper's transport, or are you pausing? I'm not sure what the difference is, or how to do either or even which one I'm doing most of the time. Seems it might matter in this case, though?

Thanx, will give that a try!

I don't know what SPP is, what is it and how to disable it please?

SPP is song position pointer - it's kind of extra information for MIDI clock which tells the slave device what bar you're at in addition to which beat, you can turn it off with the tickbox if you click on the output in the preferences / MIDI devices list (the same place you enable MIDI clock)

Thanx for the explanation. I would like to have SPP on but I disabled it to test and it does not make a difference. I also tried stopping the DAW with stop and pause but that makes no difference either.

For now the only workaround I have is stopping the xoxbox first before I stop my DAW.

So I asked the same question to a guy that is in contact with the nonxox2 developper.
He said it is a sort of "bug" in the hardware because the hardware expects "constant" clock, even when the DAW is stopped. He also said Cubase and renoise can do this. Is this possible with reaper too?

Sorry, I must have missed that...by coincidence someone adviced me that on FB today.
I gave it a try but I can't make it work. Where do you add it to your chain? I tried to put it as first fx on my xoxbox track and I added midi out to my xoxbox. It does not send clock here...
