Without even loading the plugins, reaper crashes as soon as the iem plugin suite is in the vst folder (
https://plugins.iem.at)
this happens only with the Linux REAPER v5.965 from the download section.
with previous reaper version there was no problem.

as soon as i delete the iem plugins from the folder, reaper starts again.
