Default zooming glitch with mp4 video

when I zoom into the audio waveform of an mp4 video the waveform suddenly moves at a specific zooming level. The waveform of an mp3 on the track below zooms normally.

Reaper 5.962 x64, Win7 x64

I have just started seeing this. The video waveform shifts left and right relative to the audio.

Disabling Hi Res peaks on the video solves it.
Of course, it also makes the video waveform nearly useless.
Have to rip the audio from the video into a separate track and group it with the video.

unfortunately, it seems to be the result of a bug in the decoding/visualization of lossy audio formats in genral because it also happens if you zoom into the waveform of m4a, aac and ogg files (maybe also opus). It is independent of a video stream being present or not. For some reason, it doesn't seem to happen with mp3 files, though.
