Me doing a recording from way back when...
Never did fully finish it, but I had fun doing the multiple vocal harmonies for the first time ever.
Wish I had finished the lead guitar part all the way through.
I did this on my Fostex 8 track, so I sadly dont have the original tracks so I could finish it...

What kind of matrix glitch creates country musicians in the UK?
Everything played by you? 90s or not, very nice crisp production.

I lived & worked in Nashville for the whole of the eighties. But never played much in the way of country music there.
Got back to the UK, the last surviving agent that I used in the 70s advised me to learn to sing, program MIDI and play guitar, as the future was solo acts.
I did so but in the meantime someone local heard I had been in Nashvegas for a long time & asked me to play guitar in his country band. From there on I worked the UK C&W club circuit for very decent money until about 2000, when it had started to struggle.
Went back to playing solo covers gigs locally until I got pushed back into the rocky-rolly scene.
And yes it is all me. I had started doing a bunch of tracks to promote me as a solo C&W act when I split from my partner, but found I could make good money locally as a solo covers act without all the driving.

I'm surprised the Grand Ole Opry didn't find you during your stay in Tennessee. I can picture Minnie Pearl dancin' to this one.

Sounds totally legit. You had the harmony down. I knew you worked in Nashville, but had no idea you could sound like it. In the 70s and 80s country bands with a guy who had been Conway Twitty's opening act, and later the Band Vince Gill came from paid my bills.

Great production. I was never much of a country fan throughout my life but my wife is, so it has crept up on me over the years. This is the sort of stuff out of the various country sub-genres that I tend to like the most. Such character. Great mix, great writing, great performance, especially the vocals. What's not to like? Nice job man.

Gosh! Thank you all.
Cant wait to get the tracks I have got completed registered with PRS so I can start sharing them.
Putting them out there in a way that they could maybe get monetised a little mostly because my lovely wife is 12 years younger than me & a lot healthier, so I am hoping to leave her a small source of extra income when I pop my clogs...
Probably a bit optimistic, but no harm in trying, eh?

Should have said earlier I didn`t write this one. Just a fairly obscure song from someone I knew in Nashville when I lived there.
Just went & checked on it & it was a track on a Diamond Rio album in 1991, just after I left Nashville. By the time it was released I was living in Corsica! No wonder I missed it...

What I do nowadays is a far step from C&W but I tend to get labelled that way a lot.
Although the country fans reckon I am a rock/blues act! Go figure..
Mind you I do wear cowboy hats & shirts quite a lot on stage...

Have you listened to any of the more recent stuff I put up on the wasplollies soundcloud account? Most recent is "All night long", which I pinched from Delbert McClinton, but the recording I did turned out a little different to his.
I have about half a dozen tracks of my own ready for release as soon as I get the rest done (post Covid I am guessing) but am really struggling to keep them to myself. FWIW there are a couple of demo versions of the songs on there too. Morris 1000 traveller blues is a live version from the seventies, now much improved. The other two are "Its a jungle out there" and "The Doowat song".
Happily, these are now all done with my band in Kim Rew`s studio & mixed by a buddy in Nashville. Damn I cant wait to get back in that studio & get it all finished.
I also have a bunch of new demos I will possibly post once I have them finished to a decent level...
