Default Choosing GPU

I am using Reaper on an Asus laptop which has Intel UHD graphics 630 and a Geforce 1650. The laptop uses the Intel graphics for most applications and uses the 1650 for games. Video editing is hard on this laptop because Reaper is using the Intel graphics. Video playback in Reaper is often stuttery, and in Task Manager I can see that the Intel graphics is maxed out while Reaper is open. Is there a way to get Reaper to use the more powerful 1650 to improve my editing experience?

I don't think you can use those at the same time, nor is that necessary. You probably need to disable onboard gfx in the bios.

I think you can choose in the Nvidia driver settings which software will use the Geforce GPU.

Here are some instructions from https://support.ubisoft.com/en-gb/fa...dedicated-GPU/:

Quote:
- First, open the Nvidia Control Panel. One way to do that is right-clicking on an empty space on the desktop and choosing Nvidia Control Panel from the menu.
- Navigate to 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings.
- Open the tab Program Settings and choose the game from the dropdown menu.
- Next, select the preferred graphics processor for this program from the second dropdown. Your Nvidia GPU should show as High performance Nvidia processor.

Finally, save your changes. Your game should now run with the dedicated Nvidia GPU.

The point of having both is that the Intel one uses much less power, so disabling it would be a bad idea for a laptop.
