Default Transposing multiple MIDI items?

Is there a way to transpose multiple MIDI items at once? I'm working on a musical cast album and we're trying songs in many different keys, so I wanted to be able to quickly transpose and export everything at once.

Right now I have to go into each MIDI item, select all notes, transpose, go to next item, etc. But there HAS to be a way to just highlight all of the virtual instruments and transpose it all at once. Any help? Thank you!!

you can go to item properties of all selected items and change the pitch adjust (semitone)

also, take a look at this thread http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=137372

a) Make sure you have the free SWS Extensions installed, download here:
http://www.sws-extension.org

b) See attachment;
When SWS extensions is installed, you will have Actions in Action List available, to Transpose selected Item(s) up or down 1 semitone (or even 1 octave).

c) Assign these Transpose Actions to self choosen keybindings, for fast workflow.
d) Select all Items you wanna transpose and hit the appropiate keybinding for transposing.

Hope this is helpful !
Warm Regards.

This worked perfectly -- thank you! I was always afraid to start messing with actions, now I realize how insanely easy it is!

Good 4 You and UR Welcome !

Indeed, Actions in Reaper are amazingly powerful.
There are hundreds of them in the Action List.
They can really speed up you workflow in Reaper.
You can even make your own "Custom Actions" (call them "Macro's" if you want),
consisting of multiple Actions "chained together".

And then i am not even talking about all the Actions contained in ReaPack,
an amazing addition to Reaper's "native" Actions, which you can download for free.
More info about ReaPack here:
http://reaperblog.net/2016/06/how-to...on-for-reaper/

Mucho Kudos go to Jon from the Reaperblog.net for this vid.

Reaper is problaby the most customisable DAW in the world, in which you can create
insane fast workflows for getting things done, thus not interrupting your adhoc creativity :0).

When you have ReaPack installed, you have this great script from mpl:

Script: mpl_Snap takes to scale.lua

This script works in Arrange View.
With it, You can transpose selected items in Arrange to a certain Key/Scale.
Really powerful !

Kudos to mpl.

Hi,
I use a stock reaper action ,I think its called shift notes? I have bindings for octave and semitone. Works from arrange and on multiple selection. Or are you talking about some sort of smart transpose?

me2beats has some perfect lua scripts for transposing both audio and midi... get they via reapack...

we use them for both whole projects at one stroke and for selected items

you type in the number of semitones and whammo... it is done

That’s amazing! My workflow is writing half a song and realizing that it’s the wrong key for me to sing in. Do you notice much change in the audio when doing that? Do you save it as a new project when doing something like that?
