I didn't create reaper, and I don't develop it. I can't take it personally but thank you for your concern. It is blatantly apparent that you went to the "personal" level early on in this thread. Please dont take personally my pointing out the flaws in your argument

Everything.
How do you communicate a score to other musicians without a score view?

What's the Plan?
It seems to me that the Score Editor is somewhat unique and very important in that musicians that rely on it don't have good workarounds; it's not just a matter of changing your workflow and learning Reaper's alternatives to it.
So the thing I don't understand and is quite disappointing, is why we don't get a clear statement from the developers about what their plans/timeframes (or lack of) for this feature are. We have some potentially quite good alternatives: the java-based editors I've worked on and the new Muse Score, which, with dedicated attention in order to more fully interact with Reaper, could quite likely suffice for most users. But we hesitate to dedicate a lot of time to it because of the uncertainity whether it's going to be superseded shortly.
Later,
Hartley

I assumed that you knew where the photo was taken. It was taken in the loft at 245 8th Street, San Francisco. No music scores were visible.

Who the fuck cares who knows how to read music?
Some great musicians don't know how to read music and some very bad musicians are avid music readers and vice-versa.
You're ruining this thread disrespecting matthias.matthias that took some time and generously shared with us his great birthday present, positively re-initiating the discussion about score view in reaper, not to mention that you're disrespecting Cockos, although I'm pretty sure they have more important stuff to do than to spend time responding to your insinuations about their ability to read music.

"curved lines" "note top flag thingies" "Summarize all of the rules" ?

P.S. and if you could CC license (or similar) your art, it would be great, too...

again, what is your point? You are saying nothing... absolutely nothing.
You took a quote from one of the developers of reaper. Good job.

TabEditor
Hi!
This is a little bit offtop but please take a look at http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.p...309#post728309
Here I present TabEditor. In future I will extend it with ability to edit scores also.

Correct Directory for Plugin - Windows7
Does anyone know what directory this corresponds to on a 64-bit Windows7 Reaper 3.76 installation?
"You put the "reaper_score.dll" plus the whole "rescore" folder in Reapers Plugins folder"

This is pretty cool. I'm curious to see how/when/if it develops. I'd like to add it to the ReaMenus menuset.
Will there be a 64-bit build?

64-bit Reaper: C:\Program Files\REAPER (x64)\Plugins
32-bit Reaper: C:\Program Files (x86)\REAPER\Plugins

Hello, I've copied the file reaper_rescore.dll and the folder rescore to my plugins folder. When I launch reaper, I have the error
"the program cannot run because mingwm10.dll is missing from your computer"
so the plugin doesn't appear in the FX browser.
How can I do to run the vst properly, please ?

That file should be in the rescore folder.
As you refer to rescore as a VST I'm hoping you haven't put it with your VST plugins, 'cos it won't work, reaper_rescore.dll and the rescore folder need to be in Reaper's plugins folder.

Hello Bradleyfilms.
Asyou said, I put rescore folder and reper_rescore.dll in my VST folder...
So I moved both in reaper/plugins, but the plugin doesn't appear in the FX browser.
Do you have a idea please ? I would be very happy if I can have a score when I use reaper

I can't get it to work properly somehow.
I've put the reaper_rescore.dll and the rescore folder in REAPER/plugins, I can see the 'Score View" entry, it opens the MuseScore window, but the view is always empty, no score displayed at all.
Any ideas what might be wrong ?

Try right-clicking on a midi item then select "Show items in score view" which should be near the bottom (unless I customised this menu, but I don't think I have)

Cool, this works for me.
Thanks.
(I have Reamenus installed so I missed that menu entry)
Nitpick question to the dev (or anyone who knows):
My firewall tells me that mscore.exe always wants to connect to the internet when opening from within Reaper. Why ?
(not that this bothers me much, just wondering...)

Muse Score, the root program of this plug in, has a feature called "muse score connect" to share scores with other users. Maybe this is what detects your firewall...

I'd say one should rather put aside 5 bucks a day to buy a notation software instead of putting a post per day about notation support in Reaper.
