TS-808 sounds
I meant TR 808 sorry
I could use some suggestive help. I find myself needing some TR-808 sounds for a rock project (for adding that little something to analog drums). I thought I had it all, but I find myself a bit light on the electronic samples.
I have EZ drummer and I see some electronic expansion packs - very affordable.
Any suggestions about what to use, how well it would work in Reaper... those things. Primarily just to add flavor to existing analog drum recordings.
Not often. Doesn't come up often here. So, easy and fast is good. I don't care about free unless it's so good it would be silly to ignore it. Would like it to be MIDI triggered. I think EZ Drummer gets me there with an expansion pack. What say you? Thanks in advance.

Hi
I think the free sample packs from wave alchemy have all the elctronic hits suitable for layering and reinforcing.
Can't remember if you need to register for account before download or not sorry.
They had some nice Jomox stuff which is strong.
Load into a free sampler and trigger?

You could try the free Sitala sampler VSTi, which comes with 808 samples already loaded as the default. You can tweek the sounds directly within the VST. https://decomposer.de/sitala/

Soooo...
TS808 is a model of Ibanez Tubescreamer overdrive pedal.
TR808 is a classic Roland drum machine.
Which one ya looking for?
For super basic synth drums, ReaSynDr is actually perfectly usable. For somewhat more advanced things, I really like the elektrostudio Ocet mostly because it's NOT an 808 like everybody else uses, is very flexible, and has a ton of character.
Course, I think the 808 is a sampled drum machine, and anywhere you can get those samples is probably as good as any other. I have the Electronic EZX from Toontrack, and it is surprisingly light on straight-forward stock sounds. It's got some pretty usable stuff in there, but also a lot of really broken sounding things that you'd almost be better off generating your own some other way.
Now, if you're actually looking for a TS-style overdrive...

There is an emulation of the TR-808 called the TS-808. It's also pretty good, but only in 32 bit for windows. https://www.pluginboutique.com/products/376-TS-808

I usually say go to KVR and search among their exhaustive plugin directory, but jeez, they sure hosed their search interface on that. So maybe next I would say vst4free.com and click on drum machines and then drum synths. Several 808 things there. A bit easier and quicker than a sampler.
Haven't tried it, but 808 Bass Module 2 Lite seems like a good candidate.

Haven't done the TR thing for a while, but I always thought Tromine8/TromineGT was one of the best.
