I have a FaderPort too. Love it. I've finally reached the point where I'm automatically using the tool that has the "shortest path" to perform whatever function I need. If I'm already on the qwerty, I use a hot key if I have one set up. If I already have my hand on the mouse, I use that. If I'm backed up with a guitar, or I'm on the MIDI keyboard, the FaderPort is quickest/easiest. The FP is also easiest when leaned back into the sweet spot to mix.

I changed my mouse mods to Toggle the Transport from middle-click in the arrange window. Having the Transport floating and positioned bottom center of the main window works pretty good. The only niggle is accidentally rolling the wheel when trying to middle-click

It's beautiful. Nearly 3-1/2 minutes in the arrange view at a usable zoom level

Sorry, Bob.
Unfortunately, I don't have a 4K monitor, so I am unable to make alterations to accomodate those resolutions.

That's cool, Lucas. It's actually handy the way I'm using it with the transport floating.

You may not realize it yet, but you really want a 4K display

Oh, I already know I want one.
My budget says 'No' for at least another year.
Fortunately, they'll be much cheaper by then.

Hey White Tie! Do you keep Imperial current with the latest builds? I've been using it for like at least a year plus. Do I need to download and reinstall it again?

BTW - How can I tell which build it is and if I need to update it?

Thanks again for all you do!

I doubt White Tie will see this here.
His Thread for Imperial is here: V4 Theme : WT Imperial
No one has posted to that thread since last Sept.

I will answer as best I can, but I'm only guessing.
a) My understanding is that Imperial was made for Reaper 4 partly to show what could be done with the new WALTER system.
I don't believe he has updated it for or plans to update it for Reaper 5.
b) if you downloaded it in mid to late 2015 you should have the latest and final version.
c) if it has the 'None More Black' layouts then you have the latest and final version.

click and drag the track you want as a child track up the the track you want as the parent track until you get a blue line along the bottom of the parent track.
It's similar to moving a track to a new position, but instead you keep dragging it a bit more until the blue line indents on the left, then let go.

Default Text Colors

A couple of questions:

1. In the Theme Tweaker, "Track Title Font" effects the font of the Track Number (in the Mixer only) and the font of the Track Name in both MCP and TCP. Is there a way to change the color of these?

2. "Track Panel Text" effects only the TCP Track Number Color. Is there a way to change this font?

looks like you will need to edit the values in the RTCONFIG.txt file
Track number:
tcp.trackidx.font
tcp.trackidx.color

Track Name:
tcp.volume.label.color

only if you want to edit those settings in an MCP layout.

I recommend you make a copy or backup of the RTCONFIG before touching it.
You may know the following already, but I put here for others who may be interested.

MCP = mixer
TCP = track

The TCP section is the first set of layouts.
The default has no name and is the first layout listed in each section.
Each of the layouts following the default start with LAYOUT and finishes with ENDLAYOUT.
some layouts may be nested inside others.
Layouts that are nested are using some or most of the code from the layout it is inside of.
The simplest example of this is usually for a different fader color.

The TCP section is first after the Global settings at the top and TRANSPORT is last.
the order of the sections is:
- TCP
- TCP MASTER
- MCP
- MCP MASTER
- ENVELOPE
- TRANSPORT

There is normally a divider with a name to make finding each one easier
Alternatively, you can tell which section you are in by what follows the SET command on each line.
example
SET TCP.xx.xx
SET MASTER.TCP.xx.xx
SET MCP.xx.xx
SET MASTER.MCP.xx.xx
and so forth.

all of this is explained in the guide much better

/

Default Little Red Light Placement-Bug

Red "LED" FX-Bypass placement is off on MCP "Tracking" layout when selected...

I still love this mod, Lucas. I'm always trying new ones but, with great relief, come back 'home' to "LCS Mod".

If you just copied the file Imperial_LCS-mod_v2.zip that you downloaded to the ColorTheme folder Reaper worn't see it.

you have to unzip the file after you download it to get to the actual theme file named:
Imperial_LCS-mod_v2.9.2.ReaperThemeZip
copy that file to the Color Theme folder

if you mean the top section of the mixer panel, you would have to edit the background PNG file for that layout to change the color.
you can tint it by just choosing a track color.

just for better comfort, could you tell me where (in your rtconfig.txt) I could change the FONT and the SIZE of the red moving time of the transport, please ?

Thanks in advance.

open the Action List
type 'theme'
doubleclick 'Show Theme tweak/configuration window'
In the theme tweak/config window:
scroll down and find:
TRANSPORT STATUS TEXT (changes text color)
TRANSPORT STATUS FONT (changes font and font size)

once you find the text color, font and font size combonation you want, you must click on the 'Save Theme' button.
it will overwrite the current settings, so make a backup of the theme before doing this.
If you don't save it, the changes will be lost the next you load the theme.
.

Hi Igor,
The theme is finished for me at this point.
More fader colors are possible if you mod the theme yourself.
Adding faders is possibly one of the simplist layouts to add.

See posts #94 and #103 for more info:

Unpack the theme.
Download the RTconfig file attached to this post and put it in the theme's image folder.
copy the fader_red & fader_yellow folders into the extended_black folder.
open the new fader folders and delete all the files except mcp_volthumb.png
repack the theme.

Default White background transport

Hi
I installed Imperial_LCS-mod_v2.9.2, and go testing and tweaking, following directions and advises. While the blackface transport is nice, I prefer and love the white from previous versions (not digital racism implied which I note is not available as an option now, while in old version there are 'Layout default', 'Blackface' and 'compact' options, now the new version bring 'Layout default' and 'centered'
There is some way I could get it back as an option in new LCS version ? I am missing something?

Aside note.
Although with some experience years in other DAW's, I am new to Reaper, and one of the aspects that grab me as to many newcomers, is the incredible graphic customization power inside of this incredible program. In an equal measure I am amazed for Lucas work at his impressive and useful Imperial theme! Thanks Lucas for sharing this wonderful sample of imaginative code to us!

Hi CEART,
The mod was built mostly for my preferences and I prefer the transport to be smaller, so that larger layout was removed.
You would need to copy the layout code into the appropriate location in the RTconfig file and the copy the related image files to the image folder.
