reapeak files are the graphic representation of audio files. Each audio that is used in a project has a reapeak file so it will display. You can only drag an actual audio file in to use it (wav, mp3, flac...etc). There is actually a preference where you can set an alternative path for the peak files and store them in a separate folder to keep your project folders cleaner (which is what I do). If you delete or move a reapeak file it will be re-built on the fly in reaper the next time you use it.

As for the .asd files... are you using Ableton Live for anything?? This seems to be the extension for a "Live Audio Analysis File".

There are several other programs that use an .asd extension, but the one I mentioned was the only one that seemed audio related.

There is an option in the options menu to have Reaper store reapeaks in a seperate folder. This will prevent them showing up in your music/loops/samples folders.
