What buffer and sample rate is the interface set to and does thios match your project?

I don't know where/how to check my Edirol buffer/sample rate?
The system giving me problems is my notebook Win 8.1

Have you set windows power management to high performance?
|
The notebook has only ONE power setting.

Is the interface connected to USB3 or USB2 port?
|
USB1, only one port on this computer.
Actually this port is connected to a powered USB hub with 10 available USB ports.

When you say it stops playback, is the transport on Reaper actually stopping or just the audio is dropping out....no error message at all??
|
The transport actually stops, but the play arrow stays stuck to ON.
No error messages.

I doubt this issue is anything to do with Reaper version, but if you have an old version installer why not make a portable install and test it to be sure.

I just installed the same version Reaper (2.51) onto my notebook that I have on my desktop and it's giving me the same problem as Reaper 5.x.
So it has something to do with my notebook.
When I go into the UA-25EX settings inside Reaper and try to change buffer etc. I get a message saying
"Device currently used by another application. Quit all applications..."
But I don't see any other app open. I was trying to increase the buffer from 6 to 7.
